Awkward fit and mixed bag on sound
The fit of these IEMs is very subjective. Thanks to the design which includes an oddly placed connector, short stem for the tip to attach to, and a bulky awkward shape, I had a difficult time getting a good fit with the BL-max.To get right to the point, the bass on these is plentiful and pretty well textured as well, same for sub bass but to a lesser extent. mids are very muted, but not completely drowned out. They are present, and treble is as well, but not in a detailed fashion at all. If you prefer more bass and less treble and mids but still like a relatively good soundstage, then these might be a good option for you, provided you get a good fit.Blon has been around for a while now, and has made some great products, this feels like a misstep

Can't fit past outer-ear, was excited for a multi-driver Blon.
Was really excited to try out a Blon with multi-dynamic drivers, unfortunately I can't get a fit due to the shell hitting parts of my outer-ear so I can't get the nozzle close to my ear canal to even try a variety of aftermarket tips.I've heard decent things about this set, got the Blon BL03 from KeepHifi around the same time and it is excellent at it's price, so all I can really recommend is to make sure you can do something with this if you try it out, so you're not stuck with it if you simply can't wear it.I've been using IEMs since 2012 and this is a first. I just want to stress, that if you're unlucky like me, then aftermarket foam or silicone tips won't matter. You've probably heard you might need aftermarket tips for the Blon BL03, this is not the case here, at least for me.

Nice working headset but a little big for me
These in ears do sound great and are very good quality. However they seem a little heavy and using the smallest tips they did not fit me properly and would constantly fall out. This is because I have small ear canals I believe so I only give these 3 stars based on that experience. If you have larger ear canals these may work great for you. If not I have found others that work very well.

The best BLON, if you can make it fit.
This is a warm, bassy BLON signature, but much more pleasant than previous models and the newer models, as of the time of this writing. According to graphs I've seen, this graphs pretty close to my FiiO FH5, but sounds much different. There is much more rumble in the MAX, and the sub-bass is probably what I'd call the selling point of this IEM.It isn't bloated, but does warm into the mids a bit. Yes, some might call that bloat, but we're not talking anything significant here. Mids still sound clear, just slightly colored from the bass. Again, most of the focus is on the sub-bass, so the bleed is minimal.I'm not sure if it's intentional, but I can only get a shallow fit with this IEM, no matter what I use. This results in the additional rumble and sizzle that the graph doesn't quite communicate to you. It's more v-shaped than it looks on the graphs, basically, so buy with that in mind. Because of the shallow fit, you'll need to size up your tips by one size, most likely, to get a proper seal. Use tips that tend to flare out around the edges more. I ended up going with a tip that came with the Heart Mirror.Oh, and I really wish the audio community would stop hating on BLON's cables. I think they're great. I thought the old black braided one was pretty nice too, considering the price range. I even use them on some of my other, more expensive IEMs. They're light, soft, don't tend to tangle, and are just overall lack any negative trait that stands out. Unless you're adding in things like capacitors, or weird materials with strange resistances, your cables makes no significant difference in sound. Just enjoy he cable that comes with the IEM, and don't overthink it.All said, this is a pleasant, warm sounding IEM, that even with the V-shape tuning and shallow fit has detailed, but tame treble. I own, or have owned, every single BLON except the Promethius. I think this is the best BLON by far.

Tuned exactly like the 03.
My favorite iem for a long time now has been the blon 03, I’ve been looking for an upgrade iem but haven’t found it yet. Because of hype I’ve tried the fh3, aria and ie300 and they were all treble emphasized which is something that I hate. Up to now the only iem that I liked as a potential upgrade for the 03 was the mele, pretty much because it was tuned based on the 03. Even though it sounds really good I still can’t stop picking up the 03, there is just something about it that makes it sound so good. These blon max have a bit of an unusual shape but are tuned exactly the same as the 03s, the mele has a few tweaks, these don’t. The only difference is that these use two drivers which improves sound clarity. I first tested them A-B and there is just a slight difference. I then connected one of each to the same cable where I had the 03 on the left and the max on the right and they are perfectly matched in volume and sound signature to where you might not even know that you were listening to two different iems. The main difference while listening to both was that the max has an overall cleaner sound, same sound signature and volume but more detail especially on the treble, not more treble just cleaner, which makes sense because of the dual driver. The dual driver is the reason why everyone says that this is the blon with the most potential, it will take heavy eq perfectly. The main downside to these and the 03 for most will be the fit, which is probably why these aren’t more popular. I don’t know who they are using to come up with the mold but we must share the exact same ears because these and the 03s fit me like a glove. These are larger and slightly heavier than the 03 but because of the over ear cable they stay in securely. The upside is that just like the 03s, these are very scalable. I tried them with a regular and balanced cable and source and you can easily notice the difference. Overall I really like these, they have the same sound of the 03s but with a bit more clarity with the main upgrade being the dual driver which should take heavy eq especially on the low end better than a single driver. I’m still not sure if these will replace my 03s but they are definitely a good alternative just like my mele where the mele have a more relaxed treble and these could have more bass or just the added clarity that they have.I can’t say that these will fit everyone but if you are looking for something to replace the 03s then this will be the closest in sound signature I’ve tried and are definitely worth a try. I’ve also tried the blon 01 and they have less bass than the 03 plus don’t fit me well and the graph of the new blon 07 looks to be very treble emphasized over the 03.
