Poor design - not worthy of the Spear and Jackson brand
This items looks as if it will last a lot longer than the plastic ones. It doesn't. Other reviews have the same opinion. The inlet connector is attached to the unit by a cheap casting which is about 0,.5mm thick. It just cracks and falls off in everyday use. Amazon have agreed to a refund and the guy was friendly and helpful. However working out how to return the item requires a phone call - so one click buy but no one click return! The Amazon support person made it clear that this was an exceptional offer to refund. I queried the fact that everything as far as I know sold in the UK has at least 12 months warranty and did not really receive a satisfactory answer. So this raises questions about Amazon being willing as an obligation, not as a goodwill gesture, to honour what I believe is their legal obligation. It should be as easy to return as it is to buy.Regarding Spear and Jackson's brand - I held it in high esteem - not any more - it seems they are prepared to put their name to a piece of poorly designed junk (my view). So significant damage to Spear and Jackson brand equity as well. In my view not a good day for Spear and Jackson or Amazon.

Classy brass
A well engineered spray gun with no leaks and comfortable to hold with soft rubber surfaces. The spray adjusts from broad fine conical, through to a reasonably focused straight jet (10mm) and then on to a broad diffuse jet.It would be useful to have a finely focused straight jet (2mm) with greater blasting power but probably asking too much for this conventional design. The price is high but hopefully it should last longer than the plastic alternatives and its great to have a gun which doesn't leak when the trigger is released. Overall very pleased so far

I was getting fed up with my Hozelock gun which over time became a nightmare to use. I thought that this would be an improvement and on the whole it works well. However, the mechanism to keep the water flowing without the need to hold trigger is literally a flimsy wire which is barely hinged into the main body of the gun and isn’t really fit for purpose. It dropped off several times but I found it on my patio. Now its gone completely.

Good solid garden gun, shame about the flimsy clip though.
Works fine for a while but one day the "stay on clip" disappeared, just fell off somewhere in the garden. A bit annoyed as with my hands having arthritis it makes them ache holding the trigger on for any length of time. Apart from that the gun did work as expected. A shame really that such a sturdy solid gun should have such a flimsy stay on clip.Would I buy again or recommend , well no I wouldn't because of the issue above.

Bargain priced top quality spray gun. Very pleased.
Suprised at the quality of this one. Definitely worth the money. Adjustable spray and handy little clip to hold the gun on constant so you don't have to grip hard throughout watering. Looks smart and well cast in brass with rubber grip and trim. Solid and reasonable weight but not too large so suitable for small or big hands. Does not leak or drip from the joint onto the hosepipe, as it has good quality rubber washers. Yes I would recommend and yes I would buy again. Very please indeed.

Unfortunately after 6 months the spray trigger broke, obviously a design fault as all the pressure is held by a thin plastic connection.
