Time Pieces for Guitar, Volume 1: Music through the Ages in 2 Volumes (Time Pieces (ABRSM))

Good for Beginners
Having achieved grade 8 Piano I decided to take up the guitar and, having asked my music teacher for recommendations, this book is perfect for me. The pieces in it are pretty much at the standard I need to be practising at, and conveniently most of the pieces are on the ABRSM syllabus for grade 1 or 2 guitar. I would say that this book doesn't do much to teach you how to read music and, of course, having a good teacher will always be more beneficial than a book alone, but if you're like me (already a musician) then this book is very worth the money as you don't need to 're-learn' to read music.

Dull Dull Dull
I am a professional guitar teacher, and I was looking for a grade 1/2 level book, with a good range of solo quality pieces. Unfortunately this book fell far short of my needs. The solo pieces are largely very dull, and there is a ridiculous proportion of long duets, (14 out of 37 pieces, but probably taking up half the total pages) which will be useless to my pupils. Also I had thought that, given that the book is offering a range of music from 1275 to 2006, that there would be better quality music from each period. Wrong! Very poor selection.

Short but good.
Very nice short time pieces. The book is short but each song is careful selected so that you get a good variation. Quality over quantity I guess

ordered the wrong volume
the book came on time and was in tip top condition but they should make it more clear what goddamn volume it is

convenient
this book was ordered for my daughters guitar lessons and was sent the next day. A lot quicker than the music shop we were asked to contact in the first place.
