Bringing Back the Lions: International Hunters, Local Tribespeople, and the Miraculous Rescue of a Doomed Ecosystem in Mozambique

When I heard that a book was being written about the re-introduction of lions into a region of Mozambique where they had been eradicated during the 15 year long civil war, I was intrigued and anxious for the book to be published. The author has written an excellent book that outlines the success story of the introduction of a large mammal in such a way that every reader, whether they are a scientist, biologist, hunter, non-hunter, or someone who is just interested in wildlife will be enthralled. If you buy only one book this year, this is the book to buy.

I met Mark Haldane at a Safari club convention. He is a good man. This tells of his efforts to restore Coutada 11 to its former glory after years of war. It is the story of how hunters helped the process. All anti hunters out there should educate themselves and this wonderful book would be a good start.

This great/tremendous modern-day conservation story is told through the eyes of the author, who has a great personal passion for this story. Much of the book recounts his on-the-ground experience in the area.For those interested in this wonderful story, the book is a good read. It is such a great story/development, one will enjoy reading about it. Enjoy!

This book open up new perspectives for those looking for ways to preserve and restore natural environments. Whether you're a hunter or totally against hunting, this book will challenge some of your assumptions. Great storytelling, fascinating real-life heros, beautiful descriptions of wildlife. You might agree or disagree with some of the premises in the book, but I am glad I picked up this book and challenged myself to look at the world through a different perspective.
