CrossMechanical Pencil Lead Refills, 0.5mm point, Grey, 15-Count, 1-Pack (8710)

I don't remember when I got my Cross pen/pencil set. Probably as a graduation or birthday gift 35-40 years ago. For half of the time since then, they've lingered in a shoebox full of junk, both pen and pencil used and empty and me with no way to find refills (ok, I didn't try to hard, but we're talking pre-Internet days here). Recently, I was cleaning clutter, came across my Cross set, and thought I'd see if Internet had refills available. And sure enough, here they are at amazon. I was skeptical as to whether the refills would fit my old but shiny-like-new pencil and pen. Surely, Cross had modified their design in the past few decades. Nope! Still the same sizes and cartridges. They fit perfectly, as they should, and they write like a dream. I use pencils for most of my writing and have been on a years long quest to find a soft but firm lead that maintains sharpness for more than a few words. The Cross pencil provides that perfection. No other mechanical pencil competes. And now I know I can get refills for it for the rest of my life.

Unfortunately, it doesn't fit exactly in my Cross 0.9 mm-lead pencil. However, it I remove the metal band from the old eraser, put it around the new one and slip it in - it works great! I'm keeping them. Buyer be ware. They are not a direct "drop in" replacement. The erasers do clean the paper well of the 0.9 mm pencil lead (from Pentel, yellow container) that I'm using presently.

I looked for erasers that would fit my cross pen and pencil set for a long time. I finally received the part number from the cross company itself but didn't want to purchase them from the company because it was about double the price. So, I ordered them here on Amazon and they work great. I was a little concerned with black colored erasers. I was thinking they would leave a black residue on white paper but the don't. They work great and I'm glad I found them.

Simply put, these erasers "out of the box" don't work with the 0.9mm Cross Pencil I own. The metal clasp around the eraser itself is larger than the diameter of the pencil where they are supposed to fit. I literally had to poke my old worn-down eraser out of its plastic receptacle, remove the metal band from one of the replacement erasers, and push the new eraser into the pencils' receptacle in order to use them.However, I have other 0.5 mm (not Cross brand) mechanical pencils, and "out of the box", these erasers (with the metal band) fit ok. I was just disappointed that these were not a 1:1 replacement for my 0.9mm erasers. The labeling fooled me.

These were the smaller erasers that are hard to find for my older cross pencil. They fit perfectly.

I bought a 1980’s-vintage Cross pen & pencil set at a garage sale. These erasers have a smaller diameter than the eraser in my pencil—5mm instead of 6mm. However—by removing the ferrule from the old eraser and wrapping it around the new ones, they do fit!

The fact that there was an eraser on it and 12 pieces of lead in it. I was unable to install it because the top of the pencil I was going to put it in would not come off. I had to ship the pencil to A. T. Cross Company to get the pencil repaired.

Received them today. They fit my Tech 3 pens perfectly. In that they do their job. Those who gave 1 or 2 stars must’ve gotten flukes or something, cause the ones I got work great and fit perfectly into my cross pen/pencil.

これはあればいいですよ。消しゴムって、少なくなるとどうして良いのか困りますよね！これさえあれば、安心して消しゴムを使用出来ます。

探していた替消しゴムを手に入れ、大変満足です。ケースに入っているのも大変よかったです。
