CBI CAT5E-ULT-100 Ultimate CAT5E Cable, 100 Feet

I bought this cable a month in advance of a show I needed it for. It was connected to a Behringer x32 on one side and a Behringer SD8 on the other over AES50. Kept getting drop outs over and over despite it being a Cat5e cable (the recommended minimum), so I replaced it with a known good Cat5e Ethercon cable I already had for the rest of the show. Unfortunately, since I bought it well in advance to ensure it arrived in time, the 30 day return policy had just expired by a few days so I'm unable to return it, leaving me with an expensive and unusable cable. It looks well made and sturdy but I cannot use an unreliable cable.

The cable itself seems pretty sturdy and well made, though fairly rigid. Unfortunately, when paired with my Redco EA-4F/EA-4M set, I get a *lot* of crackling when moving the snake around. Today I tested this against the 50 foot GLS Ethercon cable that I've got. With the GLS, the snakes behave as expected, i.e. noiseless. With the CBI (and I've got two of them), crackling is as easy as jostling the cable. Unfortunate. If it weren't for that (major) issue, I'd consider this the superior cable in terms of construction.

This is an excellent product and works precisely as advertised. These are my favorite ethercon cables of the ones I have bought.

I love my CBI cables. Very reliable build. Used on very demanding shows with one-off touring artists.
