Genius SP-HF 1800 USB, Wired

I absolutely love these speakers. Paid £50 for them. Researched various alternatives, such as Logitech computer speakers etc as I use these to play music from my laptop. These are a decent size with volume,bass and treble controls. They go loud and if you can't get the sound how you want it using the speaker function then you can adjust the settings equalizers on the computer/itunes etc. Would suggest getting some better cables as the supplied ones are flimsy. You can get some on here cheaply. Only thing i don't like is the cable that links the speakers is wired in to the powered speaker, so I can't change it easily. I have also bought an extension to place the speakers further apart. But all in all the speakers have transformed my music. I can hear background instruments I've never noticed before. A fantastic purchase.

These look well built and have a reassuring weight to them. They are big speakers, so many of us will have to put them on the floor, so it's a shame they don't have an inline volume control and on/off switch that can be put on the desk. I haven't had them long, but will give a preliminary review.The treble units are very good and capture cymbals and high hats very nicely. The bass response is also good provided the bass control is not turned up more than a third clockwise otherwise the bass gets muddy and poorly defined (you can't expect miracles from that little 3 inch cone!) It's the all important mid range where I'm getting trouble. As supplied, the speakers have a rather withdrawn soundstage in the mid range. I have used the graphic equaliser on my sound card to boost the range 500Hz to 4kHz by 3-4dB and that improves things - vocals and acoustic guitar now stand out better. I have also reduced the bass below 32Hz by 3 dB which makes the bass tighter. In short, these are rather superior desktop speakers but don't expect them to fill your house with sound for a party.I get no hum from the speakers like some others are troubled by - maybe they should try a new connecting cable or check their earthing? The connector between the L and R speaker is too short and rather thin considering it will have to carry up to 4 amps at high volumes.

This is second time I own these speakers. Like for me they are the best speakers 2.0 in this price range. I replaced them with Creative T40 and they sucked butt, I had to download sound equalizer to give them the punch. These babies are good as they are, they dont need any special enhancement. They are quite big, heavy and made of wood which will give you nice deep bass. If you want good bass without suboofer then go for it.

The sound is very good. As a medium small option for speakers are unbeatable in price , the look is awesome with the glossy finish and black and white in the middle. I also recommend to buy a extension RCA cable if you plan to put them separated more than one meter . Have a good shopping session.

These are great for the price, very loud and clear sound. They are extremely easy to use in terms of sound and bass control. Perfect speakers for our laboratory, which hosts 16 chemists.

Arrived super quick, well packaged too. Connected them up to my iMac and that was it. They're larger than I was expecting but they look good and fit on my desk and the all important thing is that they do sound very good too. I had spent quite a long time reading others' reviews about these speakers and indeed loads of products. I settled on these as I didn't want the extra wiring, hassles, space demands of a separate sub-woofer. And, playing my music (a very eclectic mix) through these, I'm very happy with the relative levels of bottom, mid and top end - there's certainly no lack of bottom end imo. So, all-in-all, very happy, especially given how reasonably priced they were. One thing - the mains transformer does emit a low level hum, but then again the speakers are only 30-35cm from my head so I'm going to hear anything and everything!

Poco más que decir , los compré hace 8 años para mi mac y funcionan perfectamente , tienen unos graves buenísimos y unos medios y agudos muy buenos . Producto altamente recomendable.

Esteticamente si presentano molto bene, con telaio in legno ( truciolare ) e frontale in plastica tutto rigorosamente in un nero elegante. Tecnicamente suonano molto bene con bassi rotondi e non compressi, twetter cristallini e medi che aumentano la precisione del parlato, tutto accompagnato da una potenza di amplificazione decisamente superiore. Per completare il top di AMAZON con una cura dell'imballaggio con una consegna in meno di 48 ore, Consiglio l'aquisto se si ha a disposizione una scrivania ampia e abbastanza sgombra in quanto gli unici punti negativi sono le dimensioni delle casse abbastanza importanti. Altro piccolo neo la luce del led d'accensione molto forte, alla lunga da' fastidio.Concludendo prodotto ottimo con un rapporto prezzo qualita' difficilmente da paragonare.

Wouah !C'est ce que j'ai dit lorsque j'ai testé les enceintes sur mon PC en écoutant Back In Black de AC/DC.Le son est clair équilibré et puissant avec des basses très généreuses au point que je les ai un peu baissé avec le bouton prévu à cet effet pour quelques groupes de Stoner comme Mammoth Mammoth ou Kyuss.Le rendu est impeccable pour tous les types de Metal même les plus extrêmes comme le Black et le Death.L'album Communion de Septic Flesh rend superbement bien par exemple ainsi que Evangelion de Behemoth.Le Rock en général style Toto ainsi que le Rock des 70's de Led Zeppelin des Who ou des Doors ainsi que le Jazz seront aussi à la fête.Juste un petit bémol pour la musique classique qui a besoin d'un peu moins de relief, d'un son moins typé.Côté performances les 50 watts sont pleinement utilisables : poussées à fond le son reste impeccable les basses ne bavent pas.Super rapport qualité prix pour qui veut de bonnes enceintes sans se ruiner et sans s'encombrer d'un caisson de basse.

Ich habe in einem namhaften Elektrinikgeschäft verschiedene 2.0 und 2.1 Systeme verglichen und war beinahe durchweg enttäuscht. Die 2.0-Systeme waren größtenteils im unteren Preissegment angesiedelt und klangen auch dementsprechend, allerdings klang auch das 88,- Euro teure Bose-System sehr bescheiden. Lediglich die Creative Gigaworks T20 klangen sehr, sehr ordentlich, wenn auch etwas dünn in den Bässen und ein wenig gekünzelt im Mittenbereich. Die 2.1-Systeme klangen allerdings noch um einiges schlechter. Auch hier war teuer nicht = gut! Vorweg: Alle (!) 2.1-Systeme hatten ein wirkliches Mittenproblem, eine mehr, andere weniger. Besonders enttäuschend, vor allem, weil nicht ganz billig: Speedlink Forza 2.1 und ein noch teureres System von Philips. Für meine Ohren das beste 2.1-System: Sony SRS-D8 - der Hochtonbereich ist zwar auch hier etwas überbetont, allerdings noch im Rahmen und Mitten lassen sich zumindest erahnen. Lange Redee, kurzer Sinn - die Genius SP-HF1800a stellen alle von mir gehörten Lautsprecher eindeutig in den Schatten. Sie klingen (relativ) ausgewogen, haben einen knackigen Bass, recht ausgewogene Mitten und klare, aber nie nervige Höhen. Auch die Bühnenabbildung ist überraschenderweise recht gut, so dass man auch bei Jazz-Trio-Aufnahmen jedes Instrument wirklich gut orten kann. Ich kann wirklich nur eine ganz klare Kaufempfehlung für diese Lautsprecher aussprechen, zumindest dann, wenn man mit immerhin 38cm hohen Lautsprechern auf dem Schreibtisch leben kann. Ansonsten rate ich zu den Creative Gigaworks T20, die sind deutlich kompakter, allerdings auch klanglich etwas schlechter...
