Overall, I think this makes for a good gift. It is not the best looking angel I have ever seen, and that is really why I have to go for the 4 stars. The angel is good but ultimately a bit lacking. I realize that the simplicity of the angel is designed so that the rose stands out more, but in the end the rose is only in the bottom, and that is indeed the only area that gathers one's attention. I think it is definitely a nice overall gift, but I just cannot give it 5/5 as the look of it just did not do enough for me (but I do love the idea).

They are beautiful and lush in appearance making the roses look freshly picked and vibrant. The glass angel in this figure is well made and very lovely but it is the rose that takes her from "just another glass angel" to "a truly unique figure".I like how bright the yellow rose was in the angel compared to the other colors.The figurine comes with its own box and ribbon, so it it is being given as a gift, there is little work that needs to be done to make it beautifully presentable.

I know I'm going to be gone again for the next Valentine's Day (thanks, work, for always scheduling our annual meeting the week of Valentine's Day...). This happens a lot, so I always have to prepare a gift for my wife ahead of time. I saw this and thought it would be perfect; she likes flowers, but she hates fresh flowers because she gets sad when they die. I end up getting preserved flowers (gold-coated, etc.) for her instead. This seemed like a nice new version to give her.The little statue is very pretty, with nice gold accents that are actually where they should be (instead of the sloppy paint job some of these types of things get). The rose inside is gorgeous, very well preserved and colorful (I believe the color is fake, even on the red ones, but they did a nice job of it, it looks very natural).A nice bonus is the packaging materials it comes with. It comes in a very nice gift box, but they also include a very nice gift bag and card holder (like a small book, it's hardbound). I wasn't expecting these extras, but they really add to the elegance of the whole set. I'm very much looking forward to giving it to my wife; I know she's going to love it!
