Batman: Telltale Series Season 1

I originally gave this game 3 stars and complained about the lack of Crowd Play and decreased performance compared to other consoles. I still stand by these complaints, but they’re less serious issues than I thought.The game format is fairly simple. It’s like a choose your own adventure book in video game format. The story mostly unfolds like a movie but often you get to choose what Batman/Bruce Wayne says and does. Additionally, the game uses quick time events during fight sequences and there are also times when you investigate things.How does this work? First the bad:1) all aspects of the game are really easy.2) most decisions don’t have a significant impact on the outcome of the gameNow the good:1) Telltale thrives on the strength of its storytelling. I feel immersed in a unique but authentic version of Gotham. It feels like I have control over a character in a really good graphic novel. The plot has kept me guessing and entertained. And the game has 5 episodes that each last over 1 hour.2) even though the game is easy, the concept still works. Because you make decisions, you feel more invested in the characters.Regarding crowd play. That is a feature where a group of people can vote on choices Batman makes using their phones. In hindsight, I don’t know how often a large group of people will get together to do this for hours. And although there are some glitches and technical issues, it’s still cool that you can turn the game portable on the Switch.So would I buy it again? For me, with the Amazon pre-order discount and resale value, it is worth it. I also believe in supporting third party games on switch so more get made. But $40 straight up is a bit high. $20-$30 is probably more appropriate for this pretty fun Batman romp.

Telltale games have a soft spot in me. i love the stories they come up with. and once i found out batman was coming to the switch i was sooo excited. the package came on time and nothing was damaged.this game is good to play at least once. or multiple times if your the type of gamer to do that. Anyway i really hope this is not the last telltale game coming to the switch :( still waiting on walking dead, wolf among us, maybe game of thrones and maybe even new ones they come up with...if they are feeling generous with us switch people.....

I really like this game on PC that’s why I Gave it 4 stars so I wanted to support this on the switch so more Tell Tale games would come to it. However as of right now I can’t recommend this on the Switch. It doesn’t save your game and it randomly changes your choices it’s completely broken. I’ve replayed episode 4 four times only for it to not save and randomly change my choices from previous episodes

Really a great and engrossing Batman story. I wish I could review higher, but on episode 3 the game turns into a buggy mess. If you die the screen turns black and doesn't reload so you have to restart the episode no matter what point you die. If you die in episode four the game will reset all of previous progress...Telltale says there's a way around all of this so you can get your previous data back, but it didn't work for meUntil TellTale releases a patch for the game that fixes the bug it's a hard pass. I'd also like to score it lower, but before all of this BS I was having a great time. If you beat it without dying you'll probably enjoy yourself too

Game was purchased for my son’s birthday,& he loves it

It’s a telltale game. No action besides quick time events. The real replay value is the fact that the story changes with each decision. I’m a die hard Batman fan. I wouldn’t pay more than $20 for this

Good so far no glitches or crashing on the system like others were saying but it’s not like the other bat man games but it teaches you the story of bat man so it’s not bad for the kids to play

Despite the low ranking I really enjoyed the game however when they ported it to Switch they did a bad job because the game rarely keeps your choices when moving to the next chapter so I rarely had the story play out for me the way I choose. It is currently free on PS4 if your a plus subscriber I would recommend that version instead. Of course if add a patch to address this issue then I would rate this game 4 stars with my only other complaint being the story is too short. Just not enough content for 5 stars but great game when it works correctly
