Ivory Millipedes (Two) (Chicobolus spinigerus) Educational-Fun

The media could not be loaded. Both were a little sluggish and stunned from transport, but as I got them into the damp terrarium they perked up within a day. Both the millipedes are active and spend just as much time exploring and eating above ground as they do burrowing. One is shy, the other is not. After a few days it seems they've adapted well and are busy cleaning up the plant matter around the exhibit. I also add a few pinches of nutrient rich food every couple days to supplement their basic munching. They get along well with the various isopod species and insects already at home there.May buy another two in the future. They are entertaining and tend to sleep curled up in a ball under roots and leaves clutching a piece of food like a comfort pillow. Pretty cute, healthy, and simple little fellas.

I received two healthy millipedes as per the product description.It's now been a few months, and both are doing well. They're grown quite a bit since I've received them.Both millipedes appear to be quite active. I was expecting them to sleep 20 hours per day, but these guys are actually pretty busy when they're eating and looking for food.My only reservation is that these millipedes don't look quite as good as they do in the product's picture. Maybe their colors will improve as they get older. These kind of look like striped super worms, and super worms are just a few cents each. They're roughly the same shape and size a superworms. But I guess superworms aren't as cute.Update: now that I've had these millipedes for years, I've decided to upgrade it to 5 stars. They get quite large and are by far the best species of millipede to keep as pets.

I’ve had mixed experiences ordering millipedes. It’s obvious that some people don’t see these crawly cuties as living things. Even with the better, more expensive, sites the millipedes you get are healthy but not thriving. Their coloring is usually dull and they get shiner as you care for them. That isn’t the case with these. I ordered four and they were packaged so well they weren’t even stressed out. Lots of air holes and padding and it only took a day and a night to get to me. They are very shiny, highly contrasted, and active. They don’t freak out when you put your hands near them and they started eating/ drinking right away. The quality is truly superb and the price is soo low. I’ve shopped around quite a bit and already have 10 other millipedes of various sizes. Out of all of them, these are by far in the best shape right out of the box. I’m definitely planning on buying more.

Ordered two orders for a total of four millipedes and somehow ended up getting four female millipedes. Unable to start a colony with all females.

The media could not be loaded. My millipedes arrived 3 days early alive and healthy. They seem comfortable with being handled. As they don’t curl up as though I’m a threat. I think they sent me a breeding pair, which is amazing! (But I’ll have to wait to be sure once they're fully mature). They arrived and measure about 3 inches right now, so I’ll get to watch them grow. The seller also included a heat pad and insulation as the weather is a bit chilly. So I’m very happy! They’re super active and curious of their isopod neighbors too. 10/10 😄

One is very active and the other is a bit slow. It could be because of the weather so hopefully it becomes as active as the other. Overall they are super cute and just what I wanted.

Got mine today! These were very well packed with air holes and food in the container. Both of my millipedes seem to be females and very healthy. One of them is slightly smaller than the other and a bit more active but it makes them easily distinguishable from each other now.I was a bit skeptical on buying a millipede as a pet however, after doing my research and now actually having them I have to say they are absolutely fascinating and worth getting if you want to try an alternative to most pets! Also they make great talking points!

Update - ordered one more time as grandson was still crushed about that one that died. Last order was packed well, with a heat pack. This order did not include a heat pack, and arrived cold and soaking wet (inside the package - not outside.) Both are "waking up" but don't look so great. Only time will tell, but we don't have high hopes. Wish the seller cared more about these living creatures.Millipedes came on time. Both were curled from being cold during shipping. One recovered and is a gorgeous millipede - we love it. Other one never recovered, and it died a few days later. Tried to reach out and get a replacement, as the pair were a Christmas present to my grandson, but the seller couldn't be reached. Because of this, Amazon customer service ordered us a replacement. The seller canceled the replacement order, and again did not respond. Amazon customer service had to issue us a full refund, although we would have just preferred a replacement millipede. It was both a good and a bad experience, as we did receive a beautiful millipede. Just be prepared for the fact that if you order a pair, one or both might not make it, and seller couldn't care less.
