A great read
This book was well written and therefore easy to read.I had always thought of minimalism as being austere and ascetic, but now I see it as ‘a place for everything and everything in its place’ A concept I welcome in my life. Each room is examined in turn, and a helpful checklist is given at the end of each section highlighting the main points. As someone who didn’t think a minimalist lifestyle was for them - I was pleasantly surprised.Read it for yourself and I’m sure you will feel the same.

Practical good read
As someone who is not familiar with the concept of minimalism, this book offers great practical advice regardless of your preference to have things around you or not. This book made me think why I hold onto things and yes those jeans 'I plan to get back into' !! This book felt like a non judgemental, friendly conversation with someone offering you a new way to see your belongings. Not a read for one sitting but one you go back and pick up on several occasions when you need that motivation to 'spring clean' or 'declutter'. Worthwhile read

Practical approach to minimalist lifestyle
Yes there are lots of books on minimalism and no doubt it will continue to evolve with more to emerge, but when you find one that speaks to you and makes more sense of it all that’s what this book did for me.Docia Michaels has written a thought provoking, practical and informative book on minimalist lifestyle that’s much more than just how to reduce, clear and declutter your home. A clear and focused approach that is flexible, adaptable and manageable allows you to embrace and discover how a simpler lifestyle in all areas of your life can make living less stressed, healthier and free up your time to find purpose and live more contented life. For me this book sets the lifestyle out as achievable and possible without the overwhelm, complicated processes and tougher approach.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fantastic for those new to minimalism, and a spark for those well acquainted!
I’m a homeschooling mom to 8 children, we move frequently, and minimalism is the way to order and peace in my home. I’ve researched, listened to, read, and watched just about everything on the subject over the years to form my philosophy and shape what works the best for my life.I really appreciated the approach the author takes in this relatively short book. I’ve been in a bit of a rut after a hard year, and I’ve actually read this twice as I’ve sought encouragement and direction to shape my home and life for the coming year. I continue to pursue information on minimalism to help guide me, and this book does so in a way that challenges you to make the call on the environment you’re creating in a different approach than others have tried. Here we also don’t just look at your home, but also what minimalism can look like in your finances and overall health. That was an unexpected surprise. It’s inspired me to dig deeper than I have in the past for my desired result, which is calm. My home is already transforming in a way I didn’t think I’d be able to do right now.I appreciate that this book is written like a starter guide for those just stepping into the concept of minimalism as well. The author has done a great deal of research and provides thoughtful quotes through the book. It would be easy to grasp the overall concept and get to work quickly and easily, but also to come back and deep dive into subjects/philosophies as well for anyone not familiar with all the other resources out there.Overall this is a fantastic read for everyone and I’m so happy that I stumbled across it!

I loved how calm and peaceful the book made me feel
This book was a great guide to making my home minimal and beautiful, in a way that makes sense to me. Each chapter focused on a different area of home and life and includes questions to help think through the decluttering and organization process. There are chapters on finances and diet, which are crucial when developing a minimalistic lifestyle.I like what the author says about the subject: "minimalism isn't interested in what possessions you have. It's interested in making sure that all the possessions you do have are there to actively make your life better." Being able to focus on how I want to live instead of maintaining "stuff" is so important to me. This book helps bring me closer to that goal.
