Bell Labs Key for Protecta Rat and Mouse Station

My exterminator was too expensive. I had to purchase the bait boxes from him and he was the only one with a key. When I fired him I kept the boxes that I paid for but didn’t have a key UNTIL I found this on Amazon. They work perfectly once you figure out how to use them (insert, push, then lift). These fit perfectly into my bait boxes. Highly recommend!!!!!

I was paying $40 to have a local company refill my bait stations every so many weeks with this key I can buy refills and do it myself so I paid for itself and it worked great.

Being in a very rural area on several acres of property, the last time the exterminator was here for our annual pest spraying he left us multiple black plastic bait traps all around our multiple outbuildings and said this would really cut down on the problem of field mice making nests in my yard equipment and chewing on the ignition wires. This really did the job, but I realized the bait blocks inside these traps would not last forever and bought a large bag of these golfball size bait blocks and headed out to refill the traps. However, it took me less than a minute to find out there was no way to open the traps to refill short of ripping and tearing, which I was close to doing as the traps have to small offset openings that require a special “key” to open. No doubt I was not the first to discover this as I easily found this key and several competing brands on Amazon. I purchased the two pack and found they work like a charm and were fairly inexpensive. While I’m sure there are some brands of traps that might have their own unique key, when I checked the traps left exterminator I found he had left several of different brands yet they all used this same key. Check the key opening arrangement in the trap before ordering this key to make sure it will work.

Worked exactly as described. There was a small learning curve to figure out which way to put the key into the bait station. Once I figured that out, it was great. Able to do what I’ve been watching my exterminator do for years. I did wear gloves so I would not leave a human scent on the bait box and I also used a grabber to pick the bait boxes up or take them down from high places. Need to get over the grossness factor!!

Had outdoor mouse traps from a pest control company. Decided to start doing it on my own and this keys works perfectly
