AeroGarden Herbie Kid's Garden w/ Pizza Party Kit

I wanted to love this. Winter is long in North Dakota, and fresh greens are rare. The kids had so much fun planting the seeds and measuring the fertilizer. The thought of peeking in the windows to watch the water bubbling and to see the roots growing is fascinating for my kids. I have two other aerogardens, which I highly recommend. This is junk. My kit came with everything, but the plants won’t grow. The first attempt at basil and oregano didn’t sprout. The cones grew mold within 3 days. I tossed them and tried again without the covers. The basil sprouted a sad little seedling. The oregano molded over. I’m on the third attempt at oregano, this time with different seed. Still nothing but mold. The same day I first started a garden in my herbie (23 days ago), I started salad and herbs in two other aerogardens. We’ve harvested the salad twice and it is still going strong, and the herbs are nearly ready to start harvesting. This is such a great idea for kids, but the “wow” factor does not make up for the fact that it is a faulty design that fails. They should put a window in a regular garden and charge the same price for something that will work. It would be nice if the seed pods were compatible with their other gardens, too. The built-in pod holders serves no purpose. It’s also very loud.

My son is 7 and he has been trying to grow little cups of plants outside since last summer; none of which were successful. I bought him the Areogarden for Christmas and it is PERFECT. It was super easy to set up and started growing in about 2 weeks. He really enjoys watching is plants grow. You just have to “feed” the plants weekly with a provided solution (the solution smells like poop FYI). But my little gardener is very happy with this Christmas present!

Works great. Love the new LED design. My daughter was so happy to get this for her birthday and to be able to grow her own plants in her room. The seeds sprouted and are growing nicely. Only thing I'm disappointed about is there's no timer for the light.

This has been a very fun activity/learning lesson for my child. Very easy to use and set up. The basil seems to have taken very quickly and is a very plentiful plant. However, the oregano has not taken at all and we are out of seeds.

Got this for my daughter for chriatmas. It is wonderful and she loves it. Only issue is: it is suppose to come with two seed packets. Oregano and basil. The basil is missing. This throws the "pizza party" activity book out the window.

This is a great gift !!!! My grandchildren were thrilled. It's a beautiful machine and very easy to operate. Being able to share in planting and caring for their plants appears to be a good choice for a holiday gift. I can't wait to see their faces when the plants bloom !!!

My 7 year old son got this for Christmas and set it up the same day. One week later and they have both sprouted. He really likes making sure that the light turns on and off. Hes excited for a pizza party.

Bought it for my five year old to encourage his m to eat more green things. He was excited to see them grow. Now that we transplanted the basil outside, it’s growing so fast!

Bought as a Christmas gift and totally disappointing it could not be set up right away because the included (per details) grow sponges were MISSING.Requested a replacement through Amazon but still not the same as having a successful and fun setup right out of the box.Cute appearance and seems like it would be simple process to grow once we have sponges so 1 star. Gave another star for ease of ordering/requesting replacement with Amazon.Included a picture that could have warned me parts might be missing because it was not a sealed/taped product carton, but I just thought it was normally an untaped box that was in fine condition otherwise (i take unpacking pics in case of shipping damage).Would not recommend buying this through Amazon where you cannot verify all parts are included as advertised (as previous reviwer, there is poor or lacking quality control).

This product did not come with the grow pods, which makes it unusable. When I looked online, I found this was a very common occurrence with this product/company. Very disappointing for a kid on Christmas.

Seed kit was missing. Lights dimmed after a few days. Only grew tiny plant...one side never grew at all. Unit was replaced and new one did the same thing. Disappointing.

It came with majority of of the pieces missing. It's not even functional. Was a Christmas present and it now sits in a corner

Was ok, aerogrow is much better quality and has a stronger light.
