Wrong ingredient quantities & unclear instructions
The good:1) Delivery from the seller was very quick;2) The bath bombs float and fizz as expected;3) The kit says it makes approx 6 bath bombs - I made 7 whole ones and botched together a smaller one with the remaining mix.The not so good:1) The instructions were printed on a printer that desperately needs new ink cartridges and I had to take an educated guess at some of the missing words before I could even start;2) The instructions on how much water to use are very unclear. Having read some other reviews, I thought I might end up adding too little, but I suspect I added too much water;3) There is too much cornstarch in relation to the other ingredients - I have since learnt that you probably only need about 30-40g based on the quantities of other ingredients, but you get 100g and the instructions tell you to use it all - this is probably why some other reviewers have found their bath bombs to be exceedingly hard;4) Despite following the instructions as carefully as I could, the bath bombs all cracked within a couple of hours of making them. There is a suggestion on the instructions to wrap them in cling film (specifically stating that this is suggested if you're going to keep them for more than a week before using them) - maybe this instruction is necessary in all cases to prevent cracking if you follow all the other instructions? I strongly suspect that the cracking is a combination of too much cornstarch and too much water used.5) There is no emulsifier included in the kit, and no suggestion on adding something of your own as an emulsifier - this means that the oils don't emulsify and you end up with oily skin and an oily (and dangerously slippery) bath when using them. As such, there is no way I can go ahead with my plan to gift these bath bombs to my friends and family in good conscience. I have since read/watched a lot of advice online on making bath bombs and I strongly suggest watching some videos by experts online before buying/using a kit like this.Overall I am disappointed, as I thought I had discovered a lovely little UK based company with some handy bath bomb making kits, but instead I have spent a tenner on a batch of oily bath bombs that I can't give away and I will almost certainly end up having a shower after each bath with these to remove the excess oil from my skin.
