OXO Good Grips Plastic Colander

There isn't too much you can say about a colander, but this item is great. It's pretty big, so be sure that you have the space to store it, especially if you have a fairly small kitchen like we do!The best thing about this colander is the handles on the side. They are soft grip which allows you to easily handle hot food and quickly remove all of the liquid. The colander then fits over the top of a medium or large size saucepan to drain any further water with the four plastic parts on the bottom. These also of course allow it to stand on a counter top.Overall I would highly recommend this colander as it's easy to use and easy to clean. It has a good build quality about it too.

This colander is not only sturdy but also large enough for any household cooking, larger in fact than some metal versions. It is far sturdier and slightly heavier than a stainless steel version I had previously ordered and returned as being of too poor quality for its price.Most of its surface is covered with narrow elongated drainage slots which will not allow a rice grain to pass through although anything smaller, cous cous for example, might escape to a degree if sufficiently moist. The handles are rubberised but small and also slotted but not large enough even for a slim female finger to pass through.Its four-point stand will allow it to be placed in a sink to drain water from vegetables, pasta etc and high enough off to allow good drainage. Being plastic, it should be easy and quick to clean and dry.If you need it, buy it and you will not be disappointed.

Whenever I want to buy a kitchen utensil I always check to see what OXO good grips product is available, since I have been very impressed with their quality on a number of kitchen products.This is no different, it looks very smart, all one piece of white plastic, with the symmetrical handles with rubber grips, and the stand built in. The holes are very cleverly designed so you can get the water out but keep the good stuff in.Little bit smaller than I expected, but actually I didn't need it to be any larger, but make sure you check the size before you buy.

I was in two minds whether to buy this as I am a firm believer in good-quality steel colanders. Having read the reviews and already owning 3 or 4 Oxo Good Grips tools, I went for this and must say, it's excellent. The quality of plastic is excellent and it is very firm and robust, the size is perfect as it stores away easily yet has plenty of depth and the little "feet" on the base means that I can stand it in my sink easily to drain away water. Great buy.

Great for straining water off quickly. As other users have noted, not great for putting back over the saucepan as it is very wide at the bottom. Also, if you want to save any cooking water from your veg or pasta to make sauce/ stock you'd have to have a receptacle set up already as wouldn't be quick enough to get the same saucepan back underneath.

I searched for so long for a colander that would actually drain - most appear to have holes that are arranged to look pretty and not to drain, this drains perfectly - the slots on this one are, I think, even better than holes as you don't loose anything if you're washing small stuff - I second all the positive comments previously made about quality and stability. I've no doubt that I'll be using this for many many years to come.

Had my previousl colander for about 40 years and it had started to split. I had been looking at replacements for a while and decided on this OXO Good Grips one which was a little bit expensive compared to others but very sturdy and well made. As indicated in the name the handles have a good grip. Would highly recommend.

This was a gift - the recipients seemed very pleased with it, but I don't how well it will perform as a colander

Easy to clean and the holes are not too small that small particles of food get stuck. Great for pasta; if you have something very small or fine it could go through the strain cracks. Sturdy and durable. Has held up well for multiple years. Highly recommend.

No se por que no la tengo desde antes. A partir de tener este colador pienso en el dinero que tiré al comprar coladores normales o peor de tianguis.El material es muy bueno se siente de muy buena calidad y por el precio siento que lo compré en una ganga.Las patas que tiene abajo son lo más práctico del mundo por que puedes colar sin la ayuda de nadie ya que lo pones en la tarja y al estar levantado por las patas cuela muy bien el agua y además drena excelente.

Buen material y resistente

This colander is fantastic. I was surprised by the quality of it upon first handling it. Very ergonomic, a great size - not bulky but still compact and stealthy. Extremely easy to clean, no food gets caught in any crevices. Would highly recommend.
