Rayher 7202300 Wooden Weaving Loom with Weaving Shuttles and Comb, Lap Loom Kit, 53.5 x 42 cm

Arrived well packaged and in immaculate condition. Its a christmas present to myself. Well made and part of item is already threaded to show me how to do it. Cant wait to use it.

Bought this one which was more expensive but it works perfectly.

The simplicity of the tilting wooden heddle makes this an ideal design for children or, indeed, for less dextrous adults. It comes ready-assembled and warped, with a few wefts in place to demonstrate the technique. I was expecting the warp spacing to be a metric unit, but the slots are exactly 1/3 of an inch apart, so the double-warping give six threads to the inch. My only slight criticism is that the comb provided has a different tooth spacing! Fortunately we've found a comb the right pitch (so Allgäuer ought to be able to do so). If only the cross-pieces had been slightly taller, and had been slotted like the heddle, the double-warps could have been separated before weaving began. An improvement for the next model, perhaps?

I love my weaving frame! The system for raising and lowering the warp is simply genius, so much better than any of the alternatives as it gives you a usable shed without any need for pickup sticks. I have made several table runners, coasters, a wall hanging and other small items with it, using mostly my own handspun yarn. Ideal for learning the first principles of weaving.

Great weaving frame but a bit unwieldy, too large for sitting on the sofa. Might have to purchase something to stand it on.
