SUUNTOM-3 Nh Compass - Black

This is a robust and well-made compass, ideal for trekking and exploring. The markings are very clear and the rotating bezel is smooth and easy to operate. The declination adjustment is simple to make, using the supplied small tool, which I keep on the same lanyard as the compass. The only reason for 4 stars for accuracy is that as a hand held compass it's never going to be as accurate as, say, compass binoculars, but it's certainly accurate enough for general use.

Excellent compass made in Finland unlike Silva compasses made in China.

I originally went for the 'Silva' brand name and purchased a Expedition 4-360. A big mistake - the quality was terrible with the compass constantly sticking. I returned it and bought the SUUNTO M-3 Nh Compass which is far superior in terms of build quality and functionality. This is a great compass, easy to read and so far robust in the field.

The Suunto is solid and accurate. More so than the equivalent Silva 4. However no romer, so more thought needed for grid references. Scales are clear at 1:50 k but the 1:25 k is part of a dual scale, so not quite so much.

It can take a little beating and get submerged in water. The declination screw is a little small and I'm afraid I'll lose the tool they provide for that. That said it's a great piece of kit and well worth the money.

A great value quality compass. Declination adjustment and bezel is easy to turn even when used on plastic map cases due to tiny rubber rounds on bottom which also stop it slidibg about on the plastic classes too.

I got this based on a recommendation in a book. I’ve just started SAR training.Turns out it’s missing a proper roamer. So where others could quickly work out grid references, it wasn’t as easy for me. Felt a little silly.A bit confused it’s missing something so simple.

As soon as it was unpacked it felt far superior to the Swedish compasses I have used until now. Everything about it from the base weight, smooth action of the bezel and damping of the needle movement was in a different league. Highly praiseworthy bit of kit. It proves, yet again, you get what you pay for.

Good quality. Worth the price

I had some doubts because the price was less than other places. But it seems to be just dandy.

Rien à redire sur le produit: il est qualitatif, fait en Europe, clair, avec de nombreuses petites options (règles, loupe, fluorescence...), possède un cordon, est solide...Après 30 minutes d'utilisation, on sait s'en servir en partant de zéro.Seul bémol: son prix élevé. Mais... qui est justifié par la qualité. Pas de regrets, donc.
