Fab little printer
This printer is about the size of a thick book and fits very neatly on a desk. It comes with a set of ink and 54 postcard sized paper sheets in the box. It was pretty easy to set up to my phone and the companion app gives you a lot of options to create different types of pictures from collages to single prints. You can also add borders and stamps and do basic edits in the app. The print quality is actually impressive for a machine of this size and has vibrant, pretty true colours. You have the choice of matt, semi gloss or high gloss as well. It's very easy to send a print to this wirelessly once you have paired it. I initially set it up with my phone and then wanted to switch to my iPad. I did have an issue initially getting it to pair to the iPad as it wouldn't bring up the QR code for pairing again, but a quick google helped me solve this without too much issue. I have been loving being able to print off certain pics from my camera roll and turn them into proper prints I can put in a scrapbook or hang up to have them on display. I'm very happy with this purchase and think compared to the smaller printers I've tried, this far exceeds them in value and quality.

Great little printer and very portable
Love this, pictures are bright, app is simple and cost per print is pretty low. Very small footprint, the paper tray is the same size so sits on top perfectly when not in use. Love the fact that the ink is exactly the same number of prints as sheets of paper. None of that one colour running out and stopping all of your printing. Just really good little printer

Great prints, good price, stylish design and flexible printing
Having tried out an HP Sprocket Studio Plus and been massively disappointed by it (expensive for starters and wholly reliant on an app) I bought this instead. Worried I'd be burned by the same poor functionality, I'm pleased to say nothing could be further from the truth. The Canon is miles better, and cheaper! Pros: Stylish design, looks good on table/desk. Small footprint, so easy to move about unlike an A4 printer, for example. Easy to setup Ability to use it with either the Canon Selphy app, or as a WiFi printer connected to your home network. You can also plug it into a computer using the USB port, or you can directly plug in an SD card. Quick prints (it's a 4-pass system, so it sucks the photo in and out 4 times before spitting it out. Each pass is around 10 seconds, but it feels quicker. Colour screen and buttons are easy to use via the onscreen menu. Cons The Selphy app ordered the phones photos in a really bizarre order that we still haven't figured out and even if searching by date, it had some missing e.g. daughters birthday didn't come up as a search result... Yet I have tonnes of pics from that day. Odd. Consequently, abandoned the Canon app for the moment and re-setup the printer on the home WiFi network (rather than app direct). Can now print directly from all devices connected to our network, which is great, plus print from the Google Photos app, for example (where photos are not missing or out of order)! A very feint line did appear about a centimetre from the left side of the print, presumably due to how it does the 4 passes, but it's barely noticeable and for us not a deal breaker. Note that the paper sticks out the back when printing, so keep that area clear and due to the angle, it's probably best not to use the printer on carpet as it may get caught. Finally, the paper draw doesn't really have a home when not in use, which is a bit of a shame and ruins the otherwise very good aesthetic. Overall, this is a great little printer with solid connectivity, compatibility and flexible printing options. It is also considerably cheaper and better in function than the HP Sprocket Studio Plus. Literally the only thing th HP did better was home the paper tray when not in use. Get the Canon.

Love and cursing in harmony. A quality kerfuffle.
The simplicity and clean approach to photography is fantastic. No messy inks, no blur, just a fantastic quality photo. Now... this is the happy ending, as we start our tale backwards. At the beginning, be ready as this can be only described as an Epic battle full of evil curses, cosmic magic and plenty of fairy dust... perhaps enough to make you sneeze knives and 'trollify' the self until the very end. The Iron fist of rule Canon has amazing hardware! But horrible software... this is a well known fact among IT Warlocks and Witches. This beast, is no exception. For the common mortals in this world, the only option of use is by directly connecting to the printer hotspot by sacrificing their own internet access and using the canon cursed app. Simply disconnect from the Wifi and find the Canon printer hotspot, connect using the given password and use the app and the QR code to do the rest. IT Witches and Warlocks of might, the path of light through windows in the very fabric of the world. There are alternative interfaces allowed by the printer, that involve connecting the printer to the WiFi in hope to provide services to a network, but... the apps just shatter at this point. The magic that connects the app to the printer fails to happen unless the printer provides a QR code that only happens IF the printer is in hotspot behaviour. A conundrum worthy of Kong Qiu himself. To prevail, Windows is your ally. Alas, for the sacred most varied Gods, DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL CANON DRIVERS!!! Use windows to find the printer and let it install it's own drivers. That is not a can of worms, that is a pit of Cobras. Once the ritual is complete, photo printing spell can be cast from any windows app that can sustain access to the printer pools. If windows cannot find the printer, either one of 2; The printer is disconnected from the Wifi (again) or one needs to go straight to the door. Open the log from your router management and search for the last added MAC given IP. Use this IP to directly point windows IPP service to it. It will work. For as long as you don't stary from the path of light , your photos will prevail. As a note of warning. The printer arrives naked. You shall provide all the necessary paper and solid ink cartridges. The best bundle does bring enough material for 108 photos. The quality is fantastic, well worth the fight.

Loving It
I picked this up used on Amazon Warehouse... or whatever it's called this week... for about £30 less than the new price, which was in itself about £20 cheaper than normal for Black Friday. So that was pretty good. Especially as it was in mint condition when it arrived. As the printer doesn't come with paper or ink cartridges [even if purchased new] I ordered some of those as well. At around 30 quid for just over 100 sheets, it works out around 30p. a print, more or less. Which I thought was a bit steep.... until I actually made a few prints and... Wow!—this really is impressive. For anyone like me who's previously wrestled with a moody inkjet printer, printing on glossy photo paper and wasting more ink and paper than you produce prints, this is a fantastic upgrade. OK, the prints aren't the biggest. The largest size is postcard sized, but... the print quality is fantastic. They are indistinguishable from a real photograph and they also print really quickly as well. I did end up wasting a couple of sheets of paper at the start, as I chose "fill entire paper" in my print dialogue at first, which resulted in really unpredictable cropping. Once I changed my print settings to "print entire image" instead everything worked as expected. There is actually a dedicated app for printing which the manual [and printer during setup] strongly encourages you to download and use. But having experienced Canon's atrociously bad software design with previous cameras and printers I've owned [Hello!—the 1990s called. They want their interface back] I decided I'd forego the dubious pleasure of wrestling with another of Canon's half-arsed attempts at writing software and just "go native" instead. So I'm printing directly from MacOS using the system print dialogue, with the printer connected to my WiFi network. This works absolutely fine and is just as convenient as sending to my other everyday printer. The only thing I don't like about it is the cringeworthy "Selphy" name. As with the much maligned "Selfie Stick" this is a device which can also be put to good use by the non-narcissits amongst us.

Does not do what it says it will
This is the worst product i have ever bought. When I bought it, I did not realise that I had to buy the media separately. Every other printer I have bought just needed paper, this atrocity needed postcard sized card and a specific cartridge. I have spent the last four days trying to get the thing to work with no lick. I cannot use it with a USB cable although the menu system suggest that I could. The native driver does not support post card sized paper only Letter and A4. I am going to buy something that works in a way that makes sense. This product is a disgrace.

A little gem
Great little printer, bought it early last year, decided on this due to it not having traditional ink cartridges, used it for the first time today in a while and the prints still come out looking nice, clean and sharp, no worrying having to clean the nozzle of cartridges just plug in and away you go. Paper is passed through around 5 times but still printing doesnt take that long. Nice and compact design and personally think it was worth the money due to the quality it produces. I picked this one after seeing a guy on Instagram who was out and about taking photos and printing them off while on the subway etc, was impressed with the usage and what appeared to be good physical photos, not disappointed.

Why didn't I buy this sooner!
Dont usually write reviews, but had to write to one for this, never had any photo printer in the past and can say this is excellent! Can't believe how neat and high quality the prints are. The size of the photos are 4 x 6in and I'm using it to print out my book covers to add to a journal. So far no issues, what a brilliant tiny printer! Using the printer set up and using the phone app is very easy and prints take about 30 to 40 seconds to print so prints in no time at all. An excellent purchase!

I recommend this printer!
This is a very good printer for printing photos! Many years ago I used an older model - Canon Selphy CP800 and even then I felt how convenient the Selphy series of printers is. Now I have purchased the CP1500 and the Selphy series has become even better, because now you don’t even need a computer to print photos, now you can print photos directly from your mobile phone. For your information - please note that the printer requires special paper. This printer does not have liquid or powders ink, which is very good if you have children in your home, special film cartridges are sold for this printer. I recommend this printer to anyone who needs the ability to quickly and easily print high-quality photos!
