Pan Steel Drums Made Easy: Basics For Beginners: Volume 1

You are paying for the picture and cover. What it has in the contents is fairly standard but inside is just lightweight and printed and beginner does not mean you are a child, it looks like a child's exercise book and would be better as such, in that it should not have a fancy cover and is as effective if it looks like a photocopy as it does inside. Much cheaper and some of the written work needs some attention. There are many such books, unfortunately this was the only one I could find when I wanted it. I think it better to speak to the music teacher or ask the pan player or British Association of Steel in the UK their opinion.

This book is so helpful in explaining the basics of the pan layout. It covers the major scales and chords for beginners and, even a few exercises for Mallet control. There is also a Circle of fifths layout poster on the back page with the names of all the notes on the tenor steel-pan. I don't know what I would do without this book, I highly recommend it.

as a pan fanatic I wanted this book to add to the collection. All instrumental tutor books are a bit of a con really, better to use a real human tutor if you can; but this one has a slightly original take on things and will be useful to help beginner students, worth it.

its an ok book

I am a newcomer to the steel drum but play another musical instrument. I could not really make sense of this book and am looking for a different one. Possibly it is meant to supplement an online course.

This book is no good to anyone unless u can read music I bought a steel drum which I would like to play but I need a book without all the music cords which I don't understand , I need one with the letters like c and a and b and f

This product is rubbish the pages are like photo copies of a poor photo copy.
