Lanikai4-String Ukulele, Sand,Blue,Chrome (QMBLCEC)

I opened up my package while my husband was working in the kitchen. I started playing the ukulele, and my husband quickly took notice and said - what ukulele is that? I told him - the new one! His response - It doesn't sound very good. I didn't like the sound either. I was picking up a slight buzz on the C string as well. I returned it. I have a ukulele that I really don't like, and it sounds better than this model.

I do love how it looks and it sounds good. Had to get used to a different (more shallow sound, I'd describe it) compared to my Luna concert uke. However, I love the feel of it. It plays well. What I'm disappointed about is the following. I brought my Luna into a repair shop that gets great reviews. A full set up was done. He did a great job on it. Also got a great tip about how to control the humidity. Had him look at my Lanikai, because of a buzz on 2 strings. Turns out the neck had a slight 'bow' in it and he noticed some 'hot spots'. He could repair it and said that it could improve as time goes on or get worse. I figure, since I only have the uke for a little over 2 months I would contact Lanikai. I submitted a web form 2 times over a 2 week period, but no response. Yesterday I decided to call them using the number on the web form. Hope they will get back to me. I will update this review as things develop.

Due to an inadequate description, I had thought I purchased a tenor - so this beautiful concert uke was returned within a few hours. If you're looking for concert size, this is a great choice.

Ukulele and carrying case arrived in excellent condition, even more beautiful in person. The sound is excellent and the built in tuner is great to help you get started quickly. I would definitely recommend.

Wrong color:( it’s not a maple neck, it’s dark and the blue is the wrong shade
