✨ Polish Like a Pro: Shine On!
The Brushmann Shoe Polish Brush Set includes a premium milled wood polishing brush and an application brush, both featuring soft dark natural fibres. The polishing brush measures approximately 18cm in length, while the application brush is about 15cm long, making them ideal for achieving a professional shine on dark shoes.

Not as soft as horsehair, unfinished wood handles
For the price, these are ok, but if you spend around £3 more, you can get something far better. It says natural bristle, but not what type of bristles and while these are quite soft, they are not as soft or as dense as the horsehair brushes I have, which didn't cost much more than these. The wood is not finished at all, so not varnished or treated, although it's probably been sanded or whatever it is you do to wood - the finish is reasonably smooth, enough to ensure you won't get splinters, anyway. But I don't like how the handles feel in your hand, as the wood still feels rough compared to varnished wood. And although the wood is untreated, sticky labels have been put on - on the larger brush, the label had been removed, leaving an edge of sticky gunky stuff, to which dust and dirt sticks. On the applicator brush, a 2nd label has been stuck over the one underneath, and you could just leave them on there, but if you remove them, it'll be a job to get the glue off from untreated wood, I imagine. If you've only ever bought the standard shoe polishing brushes sold in supermarkets, then these are probably comparable to those as far as the bristles go. The handles are inferior in quality even to standard supermarket brushes. If you just want cheap shoe brushes that do the job, these will probably do, and might well be better than really cheap ones. But if you spend £10 and buy the polishing and applicator brush separately, you can get really soft horsehair brushes, which have smooth, varnished handles. I wanted a really soft brush, as I find that anything else leaves slight scratches in the finish when I polish leather - I can't verify that these actually leave scratches, though, as intend to send them back, but I know I can get softer ones with denser bristles for a bit more. I use an applicator brush to apply shoe creme (the more runny stuff that comes in jars), and a soft brush to polish it afterwards, then apply wax (solid sold in tins) with a soft cloth using an adapted bullying technique. I don't want a really high-gloss finish, just a nice shine, hence "adapted" - fancy way of saying I stop once they're shiny enough! I only had black shoes/boots, but now bought some in a different colour, so need a new set of brushes.. The thing with the cheaper horsehair brushes is that they tend to loose hairs, which these might well not do - again, can't really test this. But I'd rather put up with blowing off a few loose hairs and have a brush that feels nice in my hand and will definitely give a smooth finish. As the reviews were mixed, I thought I'd save a few quid and try these, but this was a case of false economy. One good thing that many other brushes lack: they've put a little metal loop on the larger brush and a hole in the handle of the smaller one, so you can hang them up. Overall, can't really recommend - they're sort of in-between: more expensive than the cheapest. and maybe a bit better in some respects, but quite a bit worse than ones that cost only slightly more.

Excellent for walking boots.
Perfect set for keeping my walking boots waterproof, the small application brush makes getting the polish out of the tin and onto the boot much easier.

Bristly brushes
Nice size brushes to hold, fit well in the hand. After first use I was left with a small pile of dropped bristles, I'm hoping this is just from first use., time will tell.
