Absolutely beautiful. A perfect merging of ancient myths with contemporary reflection. Gorgeous photography. Murphy has borne his heart to us so much so that I want to offer mine back to the pages.

I am in love with Ireland and its myths ever since
One of the most precious books I've ever bought. Not only a gentle and holistic approach to Ireland's mythology but also to the soul of a culture and its legacy. I am in love with Ireland and its myths ever since. But this book also inspired me to get closer to my own country, the landscape, my roots and what I can learn from the pre-christian mythology. If you don't already know the facebook page of Mythical Ireland go there and give it a like. So many beautiful impressions – words, pictures and live-videos – to cherish. Delve into the mystery.

I bought this book and read the entire volume. It is an excellent introduction to the full range of meaning to be found when folklore and myth, being a people's coded history, is studied together with the archaeological record. Archeology is the study of the human past in all its depth and complexity, including how a people understood the world. Anthony Murphy brings alive the past of the Irish astronomers who built stone monuments in celebration of their belief system.

Beautifully written and illustrated .
I'd read Anthony Murphy's other two books about Newgrange ,its associated mythology and Neolithic astronomy so i was pleased to find he'd written Mythical Ireland.I enjoyed it immensely and think its one of the best books I have read about the Tuatha De Danann to date.Beautifully written, Anthony Murphy shares his feelings for the megalithic monuments of the Boyne Valley and Loughcrew in a natural and unpretentious way, illustrated with stunning photos and interesting connections with the myths and Jungian psychology.I highly recommend this book both to anyone interested in the subject and to new comers
