Doesn't really fit trumpet size mouthpieces
Like other reviews, I found that the shape of the clips that go over the lead pipe aren't shaped for a trumpet-size one - it may fit a baritone/trombone lead pipe better. They slipped over the lead pipe once pressure was applied. I had to use an additional clamp to hold them together. Also, the cup that holds the upper part of the mouthpiece doesn't fit a "heavy top" style mouthpiece - works ok for a Bach/Shilke shaped cup. I had to bang it out of the holder because it dug into the side of the mouthpiece. Lastly, the plates bent significantly while pulling - I was afraid it might crack. Fortunately, it didn't. I got my mouthpiece out, though.

Great small tool for removing trumpet mouthpieces if the get stuck, saves damaging your horn.

Poor quality product that does not work
This is a poorly made version of a proven design. The reason it fails is that the part of tool that is supposed to grasp the base of the mouthpiece where it joins the instrument is too flimsy. When you apply pressure in the course of trying to remove the mouthpiece, the graspers push apart and don't hold in place.

Works great
My son plays the trumpet, andcevery now and then the mouth peice gets stuck very hard to remove from the the instrument. The first time we took it into the shop and the technician used a similar tool to remove the mouth peice from the instrument. Not long after that the mouth piece was stuck again. This appeared to be a frequent dilemma so then decided to order this product, and I'm glad I did. I used it twice to remove the mouth peice, and it works great, saving us frequent trips to the music store. Highly recommend 👌

Cheap junk
I have an 11 year old playing the trumpet. She has managed to get the mouthpiece stuck twice now. This tool lost 2 e clips on the first go. The second go around the metal plates just bent. Didn't even budge the mouthpiece. Waste of money.Edit: ended up buying the bobcat as recommended by the other reviews. Night and day difference in quality. Spend the money. It is definitely worth it.

Worthless— the mouthpiece is still stuck, and this flimsy piece a crap bent easily. Avoid, avoid, AVOID!
