If you can purchase this tent at a minimum 33% discount from its regular >300 EUR list price then it's a good deal, else I'd think twice.Good points: It's a reasonably compact tent, ideal for light backpacking or bicycle trips and you can actually easily fold it up and get it down to the original format, no mean feat with most tents. Setup is quick and easy even for a single person, you'll have it up in 5 minutes and as the inner is fixed there's no fiddling about. The provided pegs are duraluminium and good quality, unless you're camping in snow or really rocky terrain there's no reason to carry extras. No guy lines and I have to confess that I was wary about this but so far it withstood 2 nights in very high wind (gusts reaching about 110 km/h) and was solid as a rock with nothing flapping about so no complaining there. It's also perfectly water tight, they didn't exaggerate with the 10000 mm specs. The groundsheet stayed perfectly dry even on quite waterlogged soil and without a groundsheet. For one person I found it to be quite roomy, in an emergency you could probably fit in two people (provided you know each other very well and get along), headspace is limited though, I'm 182 cm (6 foot) and can't completely sit up in the tent.Ventilation is good, the opening is well designed and you have a huge mesh door that can optionally be closed. A couple of mesh panels in the inner ensure adequate ventilation and indeed, the inner tent was reasonably dry although a lot of condensation builds up on the outer. Can't be helped except if you want to pay huge amounts for some special material single skin mountain tents. It certainly doesn't drip though.The tent is being sold as 4 season but I believe that's too generous and think it wouldn't be suitable to winter camping, for that you simply can't close it down enough and with the external pole setup i'd be wary about snow accumulation. I wouldn't hesitate to use it in slightly subfreezing temperatures though (obviously with the right gear) but wouldn't feel comfortable using it in conditions where equipment failure could have catastrophic consequences such as very cold temperatures combined with snow and high wind.Where it lets me down is in the low quality of the zips and the stitching on the inner tent. Frankly, corners were cut here and it's a pity as these details degrade a potentially great product into something more mainstream. I had only used it twice when the inner tent stitching came apart at the door and I had to fix it up myself. The zips used are definitely el cheapo pieces of kit and prone to snagging. I'd give it 4 or maybe 5 stars else but these details are really aggravating and could easily be avoided at very little extra cost to the manufacturer.In conclusion: a good deal for 3 season light camping, provided you don't pay full retail.

Wer nicht mit dem Kopf "nach unten" schlafen kann und nicht so lange auf und abbauen will, bis es passt, der ist mit dem Everest als Geodät bestens bedient. Das Everest besticht zudem durch Leichtigkeit im Aufbau, bei dem das eingehängte Innenzelt bei Regen absolut trocken bleibt und einem geradezu konfortablen Platzangebot für "Mann" und Rucksack. Das Zelt hat bei schwersten Wetterlagen seine Standfestigkeit und Wasserdichtigkeit von oben zur vollen Zufriedenheit unter Beweis gestellt und die Reisverschlüsse laufen unabhängig von Spannungszustand des Aussenzeltes tadellos. Unverständlich war der Bruch der Querstange nach dem fünften Aufbau ohne Fremdeinwirkung - die Ersatzbeschaffung über den Service des Verkäufers verlief dann allerdings ausgesprochen unkompliziert und zuvorkommend. Was der Produzent dieses Modells, trotz dreier Belüftungsklappen, auch nicht in den Griff bekommen hat, ist, dass bei geschlossenem Zelt die eigenen Ausdünstungen am nächsten Morgen als Schwitzwasser an Aussen und Innenzelt zur Verfügung stehen. Vermutlich gibt es hier für Kunststoffzelte keine Lösung. Zuguterletzt muß erwähnt werden, dass das Everest in dieser Form kein Zelt für den Herbst ist. Ab Mitte September kriecht die Bodenfeuchtigkeit, trotz geschlossenem Innenzelt, so heftig hinein, dass selbst der Schlafsack von innen naß wird. Sicher kann hier auch die Qualität Desselben in Frage gestellt werden, doch das befreit nicht von dem Problem, dass offensichtlich der Unterboden seine angegebenen 10000 mm Wassersäule nicht hält. Berücksichtigt man diese Einschränkungen, so ist das "Everest 1953" als "Leichtgewicht" für Rucksacktouren im Sommer als zuverlässiger, praktischer und preiswerter "Begleiter" durchaus zu empfehlen.

Tenda pessima, si scollano gli angoli all'interno e si spezzano le stecche strappando il telo. Usata circa 20 giorni e ormai inutilizzabile. Sconsigliata!

War gerade mit dem Zelt zwei Wochen in der Mongolei.Wir hatten Frost, Gewitter und starken Wind. Das Zelt ist einfach und schnell auch bei schwierigen Bedingungen aufzubauen und war dicht.Lediglich einmal (Gewitter mit Sturmböen) war der Zeltboden im Fußraum leicht feucht. Das habe ich aber erst am nächsten Morgen beim Abbauen bemerkt.Der Innenraum ist nicht zum Aufenthalt tagsüber geeignet, aber zum Schlafen bietet das Zelt genug Platz für einen selbst und ein bisschen Ausrüstung.Ich bin wirklich sehr zufrieden und werde das Zelt auch wieder mitnehmen.
