Read the item description
I probably read the description wrong but this isn't aqua soil in anyway shape or form it's there to absorb nutrients from the soil and slowly release it into the water column. Looks good if that's hat you want it for. Never used it so can't say much more.

Great substrate base
This works very well as a substrate base and is excellent value. I tend to mix in a little extra such as Dennerle Deponit or one of the JBL options and get great results. Unfortunately I can not fairly comment on using it on it's own because I never have thinking I'd rather add something at the start than have to add after the planting is finished.

Happy so far, it’s still a work in progress
I’ve pre washed it and removed all the floating bits, which weren’t alot really, But I’m not quite ready for it to go in yet. I’m using it to cap some supposed aquatic soil (more like sand) and use this stuff as the top substrate and start a dry grow with various seed, with maybe some corse coral sand on top as well, fingers crossed i won’t get the floating problem. 🤞🏼

This is the best substrate. The structure provide space for water to circulates and plants are rooting very well. I really like it in our tank- colour and structure. You need to wash it well , even sift it. And soaking in water for 48h is a good idea as well. But the price and the quality deserve a bit more work around. I strongly recommend this product if you like natural plants in your aquarium.

Didn't like it, too buoyant
I have to agree with the other reviewers who gave negative comments about this substrate.Bought 25 litres of Manado for a new 4 foot x 18" tank, had it in for about 5 weeks but removed most of it.It looks nice but it's way, way, way (did I mention way) too light/buoyant. Not all of it of course but enough of it to make maintenance a chore. This is probably great with small fish and shrimp but if you have any larger or boisterous fish you will hate this stuff. My clown loaches and especially the pleco loved to dig craters in this stuff. A couple of swishes of the plecos tail and the hole was almost down to the bottom glass.Cory's love it though :)Also as others have mentioned you'll get a lot of floating pieces which will quickly block up filters/overflow boxes etc. You'll be netting bits of this off the top every day.And as others have mentioned some of it is magnetic. If you use a magnetic algae scraper like me and it falls off into the Manado you'll have two mounds of it stuck to the ends of the magnet. Another cleaning chore !Also because it's so light it's really hard to keep plants rooted (especially with the boisterous fish) !I've been keeping fish for over 35 years and never had to contend with floating or magnetic substrate.I can't recommend this stuff, I've replaced it with silica sand topped off with Tivu sand.

good, been in the tank for a month now and haven't had any problems! Easy to plant in and looks the part!Make sure your give it a good rinse tho and don't tip the rinsed water on your grass, it killed mine, got a nice patch of dead grass in the middle of my lawn now! oops!

A bit lighter than I was expecting.
This is a good substrate, but is a bit annoying that is very light and goes very easily at the surface of the water and if you want to plant any plants tgere is a bit of a problem as well ... I would recommend to use something on top of it.I also used an under substrate as well from the same brand. In the end is not so bad,is doing the job.
