Normally, I don’t write reviews, but need to jump in. This is a great value and super easy to install. Before purchasing, I read all the posts on this and similar products. Most of the negatives related to quality of instructions and easy of installation. My takeaway is that if you follow the instructions, as written, it should only take you 10-15 minutes to install. Before you start, read them thoroughly follow them step by step—if you try to interpret them, you will get very frustrated. Highly recommend this opener.

After struggling with a cheaper version (which I had to return) for 3 days, this unit was a joy to set up. It took me about 30 minutes to set up 2 old garage door openers from the early 2000's. INSTALLATION TIP: Nothing is perfect. My first attempt was a fail....until I read the information on the back of the instructions addressing how to delete any old codes from the motor units hanging from the ceiling. This information should be Step 1 in the installation process. The rest of the installation did not work until I removed the old codes. Other than that small glitch, I am very satisified with this purchase...Of course, durability will not be known for a while.

Easy to program but some features do not work

The original Craftsman keypad wouldn't hold the code even after replacing the 9V battery. Ordered this one and so far it's working fine. Only downfall is have to enter code to close as well. No biggy!

Works well easy to setup. The only difference from the Craftsman model is closing the door at the control. This model you must enter the code to close it. The craftsman you just press enter.

I had to return 2 previous models from another manufacturer and thought I needed to replace the whole system. This came with directions on how to install, unlike the other models and realized where I went wrong with installing the previous models. It works well.

This opener replaced the original that would work intermittently and seemed to have a short. I'd have to whack it or jiggle the battery to get it to work.Once set up this works fine, with one exception and I'm not sure if it's an omitted feature or just not possible on a third party device. With the old one, once the door was in the up position, all I needed to press was the Enter button and the door would go down. With the new one I need to enter the code in order to close the door. Not a huge deal but even after a month I forget every single time.The second issue was during install and made what should have been a 20 minute install into a 2 hour endeavor of frustration. It was partly because of the instructions not being clear but mostly me not reading correctly. The first stop says to locate the “Learn” button on the back of the opener. I did locate it, and pressed it, then continued with the install. Fail. Try again, fail. Spend 2 hours trying to figure out what is wrong. Well, you are only supposed to locate it, not press it initially. The pressing is done in a later step. I do think it needs to be clearer in the instructions that are you locating this button only at this step and not pressing it, although it's technically correct.
