Our Day Star Rising: Exploring the New Testament with Jeffrey R. Holland Hardcover – 28 Nov. 2022

As we will be studying the New Testament, I find this book helpful and insightful, as if we are sitting in a class or in counsel with Elder Holland. His empathy and caring concern for people is evident. So far, I have only read the first 30 or so pages and have skimmed thru the rest. I do wish there were insights on some scriptures not mentioned. As this book has been made based on the framework of some of his previous talks, I wish Deseret Book had added a listing or index of the source for the parts that are his previous talks vs the current commentary. While we can surely refer to the list of his previous General Conference talks for starters, including the specific references would have been helpful. There is also some wonderful photography which adds to the beauty of this book. As one who has never been good at scripture study, I am thankful to have it as a companion to this year's New Testament studies. Thank you Elder Holland for these teachings!

Our grandson Kedrick recommended this book and reading it has taught me a great deal about the New Testament and even more about Kedrick. It is easy to read and Elder Holland shares many important insights that inspire. Love it.

We love Jeffrey R. Holland. This book of short chapters regarding parts of the New Testament is priceless. We read a chapter each night before bed. Gives sweet dreams after the awful news of the day. I’ve given copies as gifts too. Everyone has loved it.

I love these CDs so much that I bought the book, just so I could find the quotes in it. The book is beautifully done. The message is great and it is also very classy in appearance.Elder Holland is the most wonderful witness of our Savior and to have him read the message from the book in these CDs is priceless. What a blessing it is to have this gem both in the spoken word and the written word. It is very much worth the money. There are 9 CDs totally.

Helpful resource. Comfortable to read like listening to a friend speak. I appreciated the insights.
