What I like about the first two novels of his that I've ...
Well the book only arrived a couple of days ago, but I'm already enthralled with the science involved in this new to me James Rollins. It is interesting to know that hew too is a scientist ( a fully qualified vet no less ). What I like about the first two novels of his that I've read is he justifies what he has said by giving you a detailed explanation of the "science" and it works as he has done all of his research. The only trouble I have with his work is that I bed-time read and the hard backs are too heavy for me to hold for long and getting the paper backs other that from Amazon is extremely difficult. The same has happened to me with another American author.

BACK ON TOP FORM WITH A WHOOSH AND BANG
I agree with the other author anyone who compares Dan Brown to James Rollins is mad as Rollins knocks Brown out of the water. This book is so much better than Black Order which was slightly disappointing. The Sigma Force is like Indianna Jones mixed with Bond and then some. Gray is a fantastic hero and Monk is simply the business, my only comparison here would be Scarecrow and Mother from Matthew Reilly, both having amazing luck and skills and both Mother and Monk having a Prosthetic arm. I have only got to the first 100 pages but reading it at the speed of knots. This is just top action stuff and maybe one day Hollywood might make a Rollins book into a film without messing something up.Truly spectacular.

James Rollins 'The Master of Adventure'
It was only by chance some months ago, I picked up my first James Rollins novel (Amazonia) and boy was I blown away with such a fantastic adventure book. I normally read books by such authors as Clive Cussler & Matthew Reilly and James Rollins easily competes with these for great characters and plots such that you don't want to put it down. I am now going through Rollins' 'Sigma Force' set of books and without hesitation I would recommend these or indeed any of James Rollins' books to anyone who loves adventures with more twists and turns then the best roller coaster rides.

Sad to say, not the best
What a shame, this promised to be great but there were too many sub plots and in places too much detail making it very confusing. It took a good few reading sessions too actually get into the story but I found myself having to fight to continue to read it. It still has all the familiar characteristics of a Sigma Force novel fast paced great locations and interesting characters. Also interestingly a very open ending. I will certainly be reading the next installment and hope it will be back to the winning formula.

Bedtime reading
OK for my first encounter - basis a tale of global potential catastrophe that promised a climactic ending ....... and then failed somewhat - tho' I did somehow feel it might, as it either had to be the end of the world or a miraculous escape. I felt that JR didn't know how to finish, and so it wasn't really plausible, sorry. However, full of hope, I am reading more of his work, so I reserve some judgment .... and the story telling is better reading than most.

Another great James Rollins Sigma Force novel
These novels are best read as a series so that you don't miss some of the changes that flow through them as the characters obviously interact and knowing what has happened in previous novels makes them more enjoyable. The odd and unexpected event is thrown in occasionally to keep you on your toes and adds more spice to adventures that you become so envolved with that you are always keen to know what's going to happen next.

What a ending
I have read a few of the sigma books now and got the feeling each story followed the same template only with the names and places changing but I am happy to say this was completely different with two stories running side by side. With each book the characters that keep popping up are becoming more detailed. It is becoming my favourite series.

I love this series and this latest one did not disappoint
I love this series and this latest one did not disappoint, a strong story line with twists and turns, very enjoyable. You also get your money's worth as James Rollins always writes about 600 pages.
