SHINE SS54B Extension Lead, Black, 4WAY 5 Meter

The backing plate was only attached to the faceplate by 1 of 15 screws, the rest had been over tightened and had sheared off the hole form the faceplate. Also, the screws on 2 of the switches had been over tightened and sheered off the holes. The item I was sent was dangerous and has been returned.This is the second one I have bought, the first was great and has been ideal for using in my workshop.Intend to order a replacement, lets hope was not a bad batch.** Update ** The replacement arrived today and did not have the same problem as the one that I had to return. However, I am still giving this a 1* rating as the quality control should never have allowed the faulty one off the production line.Before you plug it in, check the back stays on if you buy one of these.

Cannot stress this enough. Avoid at all costs! When it arrived one whole side of the main body was open due to all of the screw terminal posts along that side having sheared away This resulted in the interior with electrical connections being exposed. This could have killed if it was ever plugged in and switched on. Would like to give the benefit of the doubt and say it could have been damaged in transit. But I had ordered another one of a different lead length which was the same and not held together along one whole side of the main body. Absolutely shocking. Literally!

After about 3 weeks of use something inside started rattling around and a week later the extension lead stopped working, I unscrewed it to see what had happened and found that the cheap construction of the internal plastic and components had just given in and snapped in many places resulting in the pieces all being moved out of place eventually. As well as this the plug sockets are very "heavy" when trying to plug anything in, just very tight and require a substantial amount of force to plug in anything. Would not recommend for longevity.

I bought this to replace a non switched extension socket. First impressions it looked good and well made. As time went on one of the sockets stopped working and again later another one stopped working. Now with the ones that do work I have noticed when charging an i-pad the plug over heats. Now I have had these warning signs I have had to stop using it. Altogether a poor purchase.

I haven't really had chance to use this particular product much due to the covid19 situation but I have the 4 way version as well that has now been pressed into service to help power my work computer from home. I've rated it at 4 stars value for money as I feel its a little pricey but it does look good, is well built and has a cool USB charger port (x2). My 4 way version never let me down so I don't expect this one to. I wasn't even going to bother reviewing this but rather bizarrely, Amazon wanted me to judge it on "thickness" and "sheerness" as well, though sadly (for some), I decided to decline. Maybe someone in the building industry could tut a few times and correct me? Overall, yes, good product and would definitely recommend.Addendum: I may have given the impression it was the 6 way that had mobile charging sockets but on further inspection, it hasn't. My 4 way version does have these though. Apologies for any confusion.

Product advertised as a used six sockets extension but only five worked. No mention of this in description. Contacted Amazon and told them about it and also to say I'll keep it. Amazon, within 10 mins, contacted me with a partial refund. Kudos to Amazon, damned good customer service.Product is well worth the money even at full price. Which I was away to push buy when I noticed one used, at a fraction of the price. That meant an even bigger bargain.

Arrived with the top part broken off and bits lose inside. Needed urgently so had to tape it up and use as is. Cheap rubbish, be warned.

Perfect for the job, my main plug is behind a cabinet so not easy to reach, this extension lead is perfect if you have more than two items to lug in at the same time. Also each plug socket gas its own on/off switch.
