The dont work but are cute.
These are super adorable and a fantastic gift but they don't actually work..at all. I have 3, one for me, my mom, and grandma. None work as instructed. However I have noticed with mine, on clear days, the crystals disappear..and on rainy days the reappear again. So thats kinda cool I guess.

Nice looking piece but...
The instructions are in either Japanese or Chinese, kind of hard to decipher what goes on inside the glass.Update: Be aware that this item most likely has to be "Activated", in other words for it to work properly you have to use a hair dryer to heat up the bottom till all or most of the crystals on the bottom dissolve. Then wait for about a day for it to work. The heating process takes a while so have patience.

Great for Desks
I bought this for my boyfriend for his desk at work. It seems to work well. I have yet to witness it with snow in the forecast. It is a very sleek design and small. Good for a desk or window seal. It arrived very well packaged and padded so it would not get damaged in transit. This item seems very delicate so handle with care!

Save your money
Just arrived. No instructions in English, since I don't read Chinese it's useless. Small and the block of wood is just that. No carved out area for it just a block of wood. Its cloudy snd cold and it's doing nothing. Save your money. It's cool but would be better if it worked.

Not sure how this works. Can't read the directions, too small. Do you keep it inside or outside? So far just looks interesting. I like the conundrum. Glad I bought even though I don't know what it's trying to tell me.

Pretty Decoration Only
If you’re looking for weather prediction look elsewhere. This gadget will not give you the results you’re hoping for. It IS pretty and decorative. It looks like a teardrop and the wood base gives it a nice way to display it. But weather wise.... nope!
