While it looks nice in the front yard, it's very poorly made and I don't expect it to make it through the winter. I mounted it about 6' above ground but, the plastic is so thin and flimsy, that I think just the cold weather will crack it. But, it gets worse from there. The unit gets at least 6 hours of sun, this time of year and, after it gets dark and the light turns on, it lasts about 2-3 hours. Apparently the batteries or the charging unit itself is made as poorly as the entire unit. So, by 9 o'clock at night, the unit no longer is lit. I should have just packed it up and sent it back but I didn't need one more thing to deal with at the time. I also don't trust the solar cells to stay watertight either. I'll try a couple GOOD batteries in it and see if it makes a difference, if not, then I'll gut it and wire in a small light that plugs in and goes on with a timer. Bottom line - over priced for what you get. Changed to one star due to the fact that, now it stays lit about one hour even after several hours in the sun. As an addendum: after buying a pair of GOOD ni-cad batteries, the light stays lit all night. So, if you order this, buy some good batteries to go along with it, you'll be glad you did. As a further addendum: Had a couple issues with this item and customer service was outstanding! So, with that, I added two more stars.

Originally baught one of these about 10 years ago, and although it had ceased lighting up a long time ago, chose to get a similar one when a car drove through the first one. Thought that improvements would have been made over the years so it would stay lit longer with better batteries and solar collectors, WRONG! Although the description states 3 batteries, it only requires 2, as did the original. This one, however was much flimsier and needed gluing on my part to hold it together. Also, many of the tabs were broken off on the numbers, and it arrived without a baseplate for mounting on a flat surface. It is like they swept up the manufacturing floor and threw what they had into a box. It only stays lit, about 4 hours (8 pm to almost midnight) during the bright, long hour for recharge summer day. I remember the original did not get enough light during gray winter days to even turn on during the winter nights. The first year, it did start turning on when summer came around again, but I guess I got use to it not turning on, so never changed the batteries in it and it just served as an unlit adderess sign after that. It seems criminal the decrease in quality of an item that could have been made exceptional with even modest improvements over the many years of production by people who cared. Obviously they don’t.

Made it through the harsh winter and is still working well. The leg posts are a little weak ... I modified them with heavy PVC tubing... cheap fix and works great.

We live in a rural area with no street lights and needed some way to mark our driveway for day and night. This works pretty well but only has one bulb right in the center. Wish it had one on each end. It''s bright enough and the solar collector works well. It is visible and we're happy with it!.

This product would probably be more fairly priced at about $10.00. It looks like the cheap plastic that it is made from. I had to use adhesive to hold the the number frames on to the housing. THE INSTRUCTIONS ADVISE THAT ALTHOUGH THE LIGHT IS WATERPROOF IT SHOULD BE BROUGHT INSIDE IN SEVERE WEATHER! The lights work but they are not really bright enough to suit me and they do not stay on all night. I would pay more for larger batteries and solar cells.

I bought this product and not really happy. The parts don't stay snapped on very well. And, the light doesn't come on until it is absolutely dark. If there is the slightest light around it, such as a porch light or street light, or even the little solar garden lights, it doesn't work very well. The battery only lasts about four or five hours, therefore, it is not on all night. I don't know what will happen when daylight savings time ends and it starts getting dark around 6:00 p.m. I suppose the battery will run down by 10 or 11 p.m.

It's okay. I'm not overly impressed with its illumination. It's right next to a solar-powered hummingbird, which lights up very well, so I'm not sure why it isn't very bright. I might try moving it.

This product looks great, but was a great disappointment. The solar light just refused to turn off at night, despite of placing it in full sun for more than 10 hours. I figured it might be the photo cell that is preventing it from turning on and moved to the darkest spot in my landscape, no dice. I even checked it by completely blocking the photo cell with my finger. Still it would not turn on.
