Perfect for beginners or proโs
Thank you thank you thank you SHARPAL, iโve used Whetstones, Rollers, Lansky systems and none of them worked anywhere near as good as this diamond block. Very easy to use a thereโs no water and in turn no mess!!! I went for the bigger size as it gave me more room for the knife, the quality is top tier and the magnetic angle guide is really helpful for beginners. I was pleasantly surprised by the price too because the Lansky system was nearly double what i paid for this. All in all a perfect sharpener for a beginner or seasoned pro. I also recommend the double sided leather strop, really finishes the blade off.

I wasn't expecting miracles, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do!
The one aspect of free hand sharpening that's always got the better of me was teaching muscle memory to remember blade angles, nah I'm useless at it and I am glad I saw a friends using something very similar to this handy little gadget. Setting the device at the angle you wish to grind at and attach it to the side of the knife to be sharpened with it's built in magnets, allow one to accurately predict the angle of attack even before making contact with the stone. Once I'd got the hang of keeping the integrated spirit bubble at a consistent level, the results I was getting were considerably more consistent and resulted in a much finer sharper edge, than I was achieving by free-hand sharpening them. They are injection moulded plastic frames, snapped together and pivots at one end with notches to hold the desired angle. two small slightly weak magnets hold the guide against the knife blade, while one maintains the same angle during the entire sharpening process. Pro's: Great for teaching ones hand the muscle memory required to sharpen knives freehand. Con's: The two tiny ferrous bar magnets could have been stronger neodymium magnets, but they do sort of stay put if you're gentle. I stick blu-tack under mine to be extra sure! ๐

good quality, great ease of use and value for money
this is a really great piece of kit for anyone getting started or with experience. it helps keep angles sharp and precise with minimal effort. a must have for proffessionals and learners alike. its compact, easy to use, and will help you re-edge almost anything that uses a wetstone. will even work with metal objects being grinded or sanded with grinders or belt sanders but do that at your own risk as the items originally purpose is for wetstones, not beveling. this item is compact and folds, perfect for any campers or survivalists. definitely a must have for preppers and outdoorsman. may pick some more of these up for family at some point. the simplicity alone makes this a valuable ally for when sharpening or re-edging anything metal

It's all about practice
Not a bad little gizmo. Lets say, it's as good as you are at using it

Good tool for getting consistent results
The Sharpal angle guide is easy to use and helps maintain a consistent sharpening angle, even for beginners. It sits securely on the blade and provides reliable guidance, making sharpening faster and more accurate. A handy, no-nonsense tool for getting consistent results. Not the most ideal for small knives.

Didn't think it was value for money
I didn't think it was a value for money product. I'd put it at less than half the price. It's a very light piece of plastic with poor quality print.

Very useful for learning and being consistent.
First time freehand sharpening and this bubble is allowing me to be consistent with the angle and achieve great results with my stones. Very easy to use, non intrusive and still helps you to train your sense of keeping a stable angle with your hand.

Works pretty well. Only recommend this for larger knives.
Works pretty well. Only recommend this for larger knives. This thing is useless if you have anything of similar depth as a butter knife. You cannot easily secure it to the knife without touching the stone or falling off, as the magnets don't properly grip. Only made for Larger knives, but that's what most people would use. It's good at teaching you how to maintain a constant angle. You cannot 100% trust the angle measurements, but you can trust that once you set it to an angle, you follow the bubble and keep it centred. You can ensure you have kept a consistent angle throughout the process. I highly recommend this over guides between your knife and stone, i.e., ones that get worn down over time. Those guides are useless and don't teach you the proper knife-sharpening techniques. At least this device should last longer, and since it's free-floating with the magnet, it's versatile. My only grip is that it's annoying to have to unpeel it from my knife when I have to turn it over to the other side. I wish they made a double-sided one where you set it to 1 setting on both sides. It clicks onto the spine of the knife. That way, you can quickly swap to the other side, align the bubble, and sharpen it quickly. If they make one double-sided i will be sure to buy it
