My Puppy Got Shocked Through These Caps!
We are not new training dogs on our Invisible Fence brand fence! We have trained 4 dogs on it! It’s been 14+ years since we trained our last dog who died this past winter. We could not find the original caps and our old receivers had been replaced recently! The old receivers were over 20 years old! So we ordered these as a replacement caps. We flagged our backyard but one day she got too close to a flag, the collar (with the caps on) chimed and before my husband could correct her by pulling on her leash, she got shocked! Then my husband tried the collar with the receiver next to the flag himself with these caps on them (as that’s were on our puppy moments before) and he got shocked! We had the studs completely covered so there was not a piece of metal sticking out from the caps on the receiver studs! My husband and I are Chemists so there is something conducive in those caps! Carbon Black or type of conductive polymer. I am just saying buyers be wary about using these. The positive comments could have been from a different batch or lot of caps. These caps were used with the newer Invisible Fence brand collar receiver and will give your puppy or dog a surprise during training! We are lucky because we had the Invisible Fence Rep. turn the intensity of the collar’s receiver shock down during training. Our old collars receivers gave our dogs a shock equivalent to getting hit by a two by four piece of wood according to the Rep.. The old receivers only had 4 settings for the intensity of the shock. I do not think the old receivers were set on the highest intensity settings or never should’ve been! The newer receivers have 24 (I believe) settings for shock intensity. The Rep. told us we may have to have the receiver shock level turned up some due to our puppy’s breed. My husband said that the shock he received was unpleasant! I hope my baby puppy will not have to suffer through a higher shock because of stubbornness or the due to the male puppy we get to be her a life companion! I hope this info helps others! I will also add as an aside note that when working with an Invisible Fence: it is in our experience the males that try the fence more often than the females and their batteries are the first to die because of trying the fence. By trying I mean making the chime go off before the shock! We have had 3 escapes from our males while our females stay within the boundaries of the fence. Usually we found our males in the creek or wet from being in the creek! Our males and females have always been neutered /spayed depending on their sex. So no calls of love would cause the break! It was creeks calling to them! Even with a chain link fence at our old home we noticed that tendency also. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall it simply didn’t seem to be the reason! Just a good time across the street to the creek! We hope to prevent this trend by taking them hiking since our pair of dogs will be smaller than in the past! Even a good walk around the neighborhood will help we hope! Our other dogs were larger mixed breeds who hated the harnesses! Don’t know why!

Consistent resistivity
Bought this hoping it's electrical resistance would change when pressure was applied. I could not detect any change. Oh well. Five stars since that's surely a good property for the intended application of electrocuting a living thing. Though you probably shouldn't do that.
