I new that this was designed for a non-sound socket. But I ordered it to see if it would work with my computer, or TV sound output connected to powered outside speaker system. It works fine. Recommending this to slightly older mac owners who were not sure.Arrived very quickly and is extremely well made.

HDMI end broke after about 4 uses, pretty flimsy

Didn’t work for me, it worked into the tv, but no sound, I had to use a spare six cable, shame but quality is really good though

I ordered this cable and at first it came broken, but the company was really nice and send me a replacement, the cable worked but not on my TV >.< so people make sure your TV isn't as old as mine is, because this cable works with only newish tv models

I just want to say this cable is amazing. Maybe amazing sounds like a bit too much of a word for a mere cable but it comes with a very thoughtful and easy to follow instruction leaflet that tells you how to set your Mac up so that the image goes onto the TV and AT LAST I can watch lovefilm films on a decent screen!!!! I am so happy and so very grateful to the company who makes these for the instructions they include. Just wonderful service. Especially considering that even when I call tech support for electronic things the people who are supposed to know how they work often haven't got a clue how to sort out a problem. Whereas the people who make these wires are not apple and their instructions are perfect. THANK YOU! And the wire is I think a quarter of the price than on the apple store (and in fact I did call apple tech support in this instance to find out what cable I needed to do this and I asked if it was automatic and they said yes WRONG you do have to do a few simple steps for the live image to go onto the screen). My only worry was that each time I connected it I would have to go through the steps again but no, once set up the mac changes automatically. But thank you Becken Bower - you should be making Macs/ipods/iphones and monopolising the market and NOT Apple, who don't even know how their own products work (this is not the only time they have not been able to help).

Worked well for a few months but the wire got a bit worn as it enters the plug for the input on the macbook and now takes a bit of fiddling to get the signal clear.

The cable arrived very quickly and was well made although it didnt work properly. I could get the picture on the screen but the sound would not work. The computer would not give me the option to link sound to my TV, It only gave one option for internal speakers. I tried everything. The company sent me out a new wire and this one does not work at all. I cant even get the picture on the TV.Very dissapointed

Did everything I needed it for, perfect length and not extortionately priced. Bargain in fact. Compatible with the thunderbolt port as well (my MacBook doesn't have mini display port) and the instructions that came with makes it really easy to set up. Laptop remembered the settings as well so only had to set up once, and that only took a minute at worse
