The Steampunk Tarot

I have to say, I’m barely ever lacking words but this piece of art left me speechless. I’ve never really been into tarot or steampunk. I started playing with tarot recently, purely because I’m a huge Ciro Marchetti fan and I wanted to own one of his decks. Then I discovered the whole tarot world, however I struggled finding another deck that would catch my eye. I didn’t want traditional pictures, or angels, or vampires, or fairies, or goth-I’m-so-gloomy variations. Steampunk tarot stood out in the flood of apps so I bought the app and I was blown away by the pictures and some alternative card meanings that suited better my first instincts. (For instance I struggled a lot with seven of swords, and I finally found out why!)Since it was honestly the only deck, aside from Marchetti’s, that spoke to me, I ordered the “real” one. And I was simply speechless when I unpacked it.The box is already beautiful, with magnetic closure. Then you see the book and a black string. When you pull it, the book goes up and you see the cards, packed neatly in the carved space. And even though the space is conveniently designed to pull the cards out, still you can pull the string once again to pop them out! ♥️ I mean, the whole thing is so thoughtfully done, with such attention to details, that it’s worth any price.And at last, but certainly not least, I found this amazing farewell at the end of the book... I think I might’ve shed a few tears at this point 😉It is a piece of art and I can’t find words to express how it feels to find such a gem!

Before purchasing this deck I read the reviews and numerous people have said the deck is beautiful but the card stock is poor and only suitable for a collection piece. I brought the deck and the first time I shuffled it one of the black edges chipped and so did the back of one of the other cards. But I thought I would give the deck a fair chance. I am a professional tart reader and I work for a physic sms chat line so I do hundreds of readings ( and shuffles) a day. I used this deck all day and did two hundred shuffles and it has held up well. There is some chipping on the black edges but a few dabs with a black acrylic paint pen and it looks good as new. Do not vanquish this deck to the collectors shelf yet. You can get great use out of it and use it like an ordinary deck.

You will first notice the artwork and the quality of the good sized box. The attention to detail on each card is breathtaking. The glimpse of the future through a lens to the past makes me feel very connected to these cards. The substantial guide book contains pictures of all of the cards, and as you read about each one it pulls you in to really look at the details of each incredible artwork that some how your eyes have missed.The cards are of very good quality and shuffle really well. I bought this set as my very first deck, because I'm very fond of steampunk and the thought of Tarot cards based on it was a must-have. The quality of the cards could be better, but it's what we can expect from most mass produced decks. The images on the cards themselves are amazing and in the book Barbara Moore explains why we see what we see in each card - this makes the book a worth while read even if you are an experienced Tarot reader. For a beginner the book is a really good place to start leaning about Tarot, Babara writes very well and her enthusiasm just bleeds through. She doesn't talk down to you, encourages you to find your own truth and merely offers her own beliefs and practices as an example.

I like the paintings of this deck. However, they are printed too dark. I miss a lot of details that show up in the booklet that has big illustrations of each card in black & white. The quality of the card is not optimal. The price is too high for such poor quality of carton. One gets to pay the storage space of this big box that the deck comes with. It's not a must have, but I'm very fond of the sepia tones and the very beautiful illustrations and I use it often.

This beautiful deck of Tarot cards comes in a beautiful box but guess what. Amazon doesn’t put it in a cardboard box to send it. No, they send it as is with a great big sticker on the outside. It’s an expensive item and just because it’s boxed does not mean it does not need any packaging. I’m sick of all this ‘green’ ‘no packaging’ agenda. PLEASE SEND THIS PROPERLY PROTECTIVELY PACKAGED. See damage to the box in my photos.

I love these cards, They fit my personality perfectly. The Book is great, very helpful. This is a very nice set. The quality of the graphics on each card is amazing. The only down side is that I'm afraid the card will not wear too well, Everytime I shuffle them I have to be extra careful to not to damage them. Other than that they're great

Well.....! On first opening I thought that I didn’t find the cards as attractive as I’d hoped I would. They immediately drew me in and within a short time I absolutely loved them. I have collected cards for ages and people say certain decks just ‘speak’ to them. Although I love the artwork on all of my decks, so far I haven’t really found one that I can connect with for readings. I drew 9 cards and got a king and queen side by side. Now normally the accompanying books’ meanings don’t resonate much with me either, but this one, my God it was like it was written for me, I sat there with a dropped jaw. Being a fire sign I always thought I was a queen of wands type, her attributes normally fit with me. At the moment I’m with someone lovely who’s loyal and dependable but quite routine and stuck in his ways, while I have been craving to move forward in all areas of my life and becoming restless with stagnation ( also got hanged man- suspension!) The book used the exact term ‘moving forward’ for her. Also drew 4 coins which to me suggests stable but maybe lacking excitement....long review but I regretted buying this deck at first but now I’m so glad I did! The book and box are lovely and each time I look I see or interpret something unseen previously in the cards.

Me encantó ! . Tenía la versión económica por eso me pedí ésta y gran calidad. Nada que ver con lo que tenía.

Dieses Deck ist mit seinen Steampunk-Vibes sehr atmosphärisch uns scheint dabei mit ausdrucksvollen Charakteren seine eigene Geschichte zu erzählen. Das Begleitbuch bietet umfangreiche Informationen und ist unterhaltsam geschrieben.Das Deck ist aus meiner Sicht für Anfänger als auch für Fortgeschrittene Reader gut geeignet.Eine Empfehlung für alle die mit Tarot in eine komplett andere Welt abtauchen wollen.

This deck has a great feel to it. I'm new to tarot and these cards are easy to follow and the guide book is very helpful. The card stock is a bit thin but the coating is smooth and the cards are easy to shuffle.

Es un tarot bonito, fácil para principiantes ya que es similar al Rider. La pega es que no trae caja individual para las cartas, solo el estuche grande con cierre metálico de imán, y me tocó guardarlas en una bolsita de tela. ¡El libro es interesante también! Sólo disponible en inglés pero sencillo de entender.Cartas con un gramaje decente, barajan bien y tienen un tamaño adecuado.Ya sea por iniciarse en el tarot o aumentar la colección, creo que merece la pena.
