Then.... the second time I looked at them a week later.. the other one snapped off whilst trying to fit them together. (So they will no longer lock together as one unit.) To be honest, as I have the bag it doesn't matter so much.The blade of the knife is as blunt as a piece of chedder cheese but you can sharpen it yourself.I am actually going to give these 4 stars. And why? Because if I loose them camping then I am really not going to be that bothered compared to loosing a £20+ set of cutlery. Also the rivets were not that comfortable in the palm of the hand anyway and I could see myself at some point removing them anyhow.Pros: Cheap, fairly tough and not too flimsy, came with tight fitting bag, don't care if I loose them.Cons: Rivets came off, blade very blunt, not quality items as suchp.s I am going to bind the handles with tightly wound cloth to create a larger gripping surface and be more comfortable in the hand. Just what I was looking for as compact, lightweight cutlery for hiking/camping. That said, they're not perfect.Pros:They are lightweight and compact and putting them away in the case stops them damaging anything else in my bag.The fork functions as a fork (!) and the spoon is a decent spoon.Cons:The case is a bit on the small side and therefore a very tight fit. Could just do with a few extra millimetres.Clipping the items together is quite tricky. You have to get them in exactly the right order or it doesn't work. And it seems to require mildly bending the knife, which doesn't seem like a great idea. As with the case, they same to have made the posts that hold it all together just a little shorter than they ought to be.The knife wouldn't cut butter that's spent 30 seconds in a microwave! Basically it's a flat bit of metal with no blade on it to speak of at all. Thankfully I've never had much use for a knife when camping - a spoon handles pretty much everything that a rehydrated expedition pack and a cup of tea can throw at you!Summary: useful enough for the cheap price. However, I may have been better off just buying a spork. One of the two screwas that keep the set together broke in the very first day of use, but it doesnt really matter because i can still keep them together inside the very useful little bag the set comes with. the cuttlery itself is of good quality, and the knife cuts enough for a pack lunch.
