Bear and Hare: Mine! (Bear and Hare, 4)

Will Hare share with Bear?
Mine! is my first foray into Emily Gravett's Bear and Hare series and I was very pleasantly surprised, when the book arrived. It's a beautiful and solid board book for the very young ones and it will certainly survive a few bumps and scratches if necessary. The two friends, Bear and Hare, are off for a walk and no matter, if they come across a beautiful flower, a colourful balloon or delicious ice cream, Bear would like to share, but Hare has none of it. Mine! is his answer. Finally Hare is out and about on his own, when he comes across a beehive and his longing for some sweet honey has painful consequences.Luckily Bear is there as a true friend to help. But has Hare learned his lesson? Is he now prepared to share? There are just a few words on each page, which makes the book ideal for the very young reader. The lovely, vivid and very cheerful illustrations were a complete hit with me. The phonetics are simply spot on: Bear, Hare, share, care and the wee ones will easily remember them.Bear and Hare: Mine! is a very beautiful board book, which comes with the important message that sharing with and caring for others is a very good thing to do, as it will pay back in the long run, when friends are happily prepared to do the same for us in the hour of need.Highly recommended.

Our 2 year old LOVES this book
It's surprisingly hard to find good books for an impatient 18 month-2 year old. Too often there are far too many words per page or the pictures don't change much from page to page, so he gets bored. This series has the perfect balance between pictures and words, is catchy, with themes a toddler relates to, and makes my little boy laugh. The Pip and Posy series is another one I'd recommend.

Lovely book
The bear and hare books are lovely. My little boy loves the illustrations - especially bear! This isn’t as good as Where’s Bear? (At least he doesn’t get as excited by it.) But it’s very sweet and well worth getting.

Amazing book for little ones
Nice story. Mi one year olde child loves these stories about Bear and Hear. I totally recommend this story. I also recommend the book "Hide and Seek" of this same author.

Teaches the opposite of what it's meant to.
This book basically teaches your kids not to share. My daughter started grabbing things and shouting "MINE!" more after we read this to her.
