This is a gift for a friend who traveled through Ukraine, before the Russian invasion…..a way to remember the beauty and various eco systems in this unique and interesting country. I hope more people will purchase this book to remind others of the way the evil of war decimates Beauty….

A very interesting book that shares many stories of its people, showing a real diversity of origins but all united by a love for their land. This book is more focused on the rural side of the country showing people that have creative endeavours: textile, pottery, artists, wine and bee makers as well as people that live off its land, with an emphasis on more traditional and environmentally friendly exploitations. The text is a tad too succinct for my liking, however you find lots of QR codes throughout the pages that invite the reader to access videos which show the people and landscapes in more depth. While the idea is interesting, it is a bit distracting to read a book with a phone in one’s hand! I wouldn’t say that the pictures are stunning in themselves but you can feel that a lot of love was poured into the pages. The author states himself in the foreword that he was trying to create an emotion, and he succeeded really well in this endeavour. I really hope that more peaceful times will soon come so that people get to see and experience this fascinating territory. In the meantime, get this book and fall in love with it, albeit vicariously.

I'm amazed by the project that Ukrainer has created. Each page of the book has a QR Code, which takes you into a world of online stories that are not in the printed book, with YouTube videos, photos, background stories leading to more websites and stories. It allows you to see into the world that is Ukraine, and into the hearts and minds of the people. Each page is a world in itself, not visible at first glance. It is going to take me a long time to read this book! I love it!

I’ve been waiting for this book for a while and I’m so happy it’s finally available! This book is very dear to me as it shows my homeland and my fellow Ukrainians. Ukraїner is an amazing community of volunteers who are doing an incredible job with numerous projects! This book would be a great gift for anyone who’s interested to learn more about Ukraine and support Ukraine during the most challenging time in its modern history. 💙💛🇺🇦Дякую!
