Thomas and his friends return in Series 16; all 20 episodes on DVD together for the first time ever! Sodor is filled with the sound of music when a famous composer visits the island. Thomas becomes a scarecrow for the day, Percy falls foul of one of Salty's tales and Charlie combines his love for snow and jokes. The engines welcome Stafford to Sodor, celebrate The Fat Controller's birthday and, when a photographer visits the island, Thomas aims to appear in as many photos as possible! Review: My son loves these Thomas series DVD’s - Bought for my son who loves Thomas the tank engine and want to collect all the series. We started a weekly reward chart and each week he gets a new dvd into the collection if he’s completed his chart. Currently at series 15 so it’s working! Lol He loves watching the dvds. Very well made and perfect for kids. Review: They're 2, they're 4, they're 6, they're 8... - Another great series of Thomas and friends

Bought for my two year old grandson - he would watch it all day every day if he was allowed - he really, really loves it. His mother has had to hide it. (I haven't seen it myself)

A slow improvement on previous series
Despite this again having very similar problems as series 13,14 and 15, series 16 does actually appeal a little better. Now yes just about every episode is still set out with the train makes three mistakes and then learns his lesson but they actually mixed up a little and one or two episodes had the train make just two mistakes instead of three! oh the refreshingness of it all. Also the characters seem a little more interesting with Diesel finally acting like a villain again after the softness he had been portrayed as in the last couple of series. The last few episodes are definitely the strongest with a larger variation of cast usage and points of view from different engines. I think a central cast can only work for so long before ideas begin to run dry. And judging by the standards of the last couple of series ideas ran dry a long time ago. Me and my daughter did actually begin to get interested in the show again towards the end of the series so it gets 4 stars. I have high hopes for series 17 as i hear the central cast in every single episode is finally pulled away from and a railway consultant was used in the production of the episodes which hasn't been used since i think series 5. Heres hoping it will be back up to five stars next series!
