‘MUST BE HARD-WIRED’From experience, it is worth noting the SERIAL NUMBER from the hob for the warranty/guarantee before installing (needed for the 2nd year free + extended option online)!ooOoo~ VERSION: RUSSELL HOBBS RH60EH402B~ 4-ZONE ELECTRIC HOB, with TOUCH CONTROL & CHILD LOCKCOLOUR: BLACKooOooNot classed as an 'essential purchase' in these current troubled times, it was online to replace the blown one rather than pop down to the electrical shop and see what was available! Of course, it also meant that we had to take things at face value not being able to see it in the flesh, so to speak, but you can't go without a hob for long (even if a glass of wine suddenly becomes essential rather than a mug of hot chocolate)!So, this was a gamble but, I am happy to say, one that has paid off.It arrived promptly via courier appropriately emblazoned with ‘FRAGILE’ everywhere possible & impeccably packed in polystyrene inside, although it did take two of us to extricate it from the cardboard box.It dropped into the existing cut-out with no problem, the design being a flusher fit around the edges than the last, and…there are no knobs to worry about cleaning around.Elegant in black with discrete branding and ‘SCHOTT CERAN®’ on the two back corners, the logical (to me) touch control panel is all at the front.There are 2 different sizes of ‘cooking zone’ (which I call ‘ring’).Not being used to touch control, it did take a little while to get used to the functionality, but it does seem to be much more efficient than the last one, with my usual favourite pans simmering at a lesser heat.The default on turning the ring on is ‘5’ and it is easy to increase (up to 9) or decrease, as is relevant.The control shows flashing ‘H’ in red where the ring is not cooled down sufficiently, as a safety precaution.We don’t really use the TIMER FACILITY and are passed the stage of worrying about the child lock functionality, but it appears to be easy to use all when required, referring to the straightforward 28-page INSTRUCTION MANUAL supplied (in English only).There is an OVER HEAT PROTECTION & AUTO SHUTDOWN, both also described in the manual, which also covers CLEANING & MAINTENANCE and benefits from a TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE.The only problem I have had is down to user error, i.e. habit, rather than the hob, and that is switching the whole thing off if wiping away a dribble! It is easy to turn back on again in such an instance.Guarantee ~ 1 year (2nd year free + option to extend beyond online, which is easy to do, with the aforementioned SERIAL NUMBER required).All has been going very well in the kitchen for well over a month now...if it changes, I will be back to update.[14 images attached]

Bought this as a replacement and couldn’t be more pleased with it.Very sleek and easy to use and clean.

This product works well, is easy to install and looks fairly good for the price.My only issue is that with the controls being on the front it’s too easy to switch on the hobs by a simple lay down of a spoon or movement of a pan. Not really good when you have a very small kitchen with minimal working space

Simple to fit, easy to clean and easy to use.We fitted this in our holiday let and have had no complaints or questions on use from our guests.

Nice bit of kit

Love my new hob, was easy to install, good value, looks good & works brilliantly. Very easy to use. The touch buttons are very sensitive though so I would recommend locking them when using the hob, it’s very easy to unlock again. Overall really pleased & would recommend.

So I bought this to replace a previous cracked hob and need one quickly. Got it installed and switched it on. To unlock it you need to hold the unlock button for 5 seconds then press the on button and then which hob you want on. It only takes the slightest touch to come on once it's unlocked.Now the stupid design bit is rather than come on at zero and you having to press the up button to get the desired temperature this thing comes on at 5, so if you have a cat and forget to lock the thing they can switch it on by walking over it. Tonight someone forgot to lock it and the cat switched it on and roasted an oven tray that was to get washed. I am just glad we were in and smelt the burning before anything bad happened.So now it's switched off at the wall as this is the second time.
