MaxCatch Avid Fly Reel Aluminium Alloy Fly Reel 1/3.3/4.5/6.7/8.9/10 wt, Model 03, 1/3 weight

I bought this reel in part because of the excellent reviews it had already received and in part because I bought a Maxcatch rod last year and that has proven to be an outstanding performer for the money. The only thing I could fault is that all Chinese-made reels arrive set up for left-handers and have to be swapped over. The instructions for this are not clear and the parts-exploded diagram I found somewhat intimidating. 'Release the retaining spring' say the instructions and the prospect of several dozen small parts flying around the kitchen loomed large. They didn't and while you need to be careful, the job when done is actually simple.The reel looks good and will obviously last; the drag is smooth and effectiive; and rewind is just loud enough. It's another winner from Maxcatch. Their customer service (by email) is also very, very good as I discovered when my carbon rod tube was delayed.

Was erwartet man, wenn man ein Produkt aus Fernost bestellt? Ich persönlich wollte eine einfache Rolle für meine Bachrute haben, weil ich diese eh nicht so häufig verwende. Bekommen habe ich allerdings eine wirklich gut verarbeitete Rolle, an der ich auch nach genauerem Hinsehen nichts, aber wirklich gar nichts negatives ausfindig machen konnte. Qualitativ auf dem gleichen Level wie Rollen der doppelten/dreifachen Preisklasse. Also ich bin echt begeistert, weil ich gerade das Gefühl habe, hier einen echten Geheimtip ausfindig gemacht zu haben.
