We love this grill!
My son and I love hamburgers but had quit making them because of the spatter everywhere and it took a while to cook them. This thing cooks hamburgers so fast! And I love boneless thighs, so I marinade them in a bit of avocado oil, a teaspoon or so of apple cider vinegar, couple of dashes of soy sauce, seasonings of salt, garlic and onion powder and oregano in a ziplock bag in the fridge for a few hours. This also keeps them from sticking to the grill. They come out tender and flavorful. My daughter said it tasted like from a restaurant and the small thighs cooked in four minutes! That's all we've done so far, but I'll be trying some grilled zucchini and grilled cheese sandwiches next! The one flaw is the chuck hamburgers let off so much grease that the top of the lid hanging down got grease up inside an thin opening in the lid (hard to explain!). But we were able to clean it pretty well. I do wish the drip pan clicked into the machine, and I do wish it did more than two hamburgers at a time, but I still love it! As most say, it is NOT five servings unless you have small toddlers! I do two hamburgers and reheat the second one the next day and have with a salad for a low-carb meal. To reheat I put a thin layer of butter in the center of foil long enough to fold over, splashed some drops of water, put the patty down, put a slice of cheese on top, folded the foil loosely on top and also on the sides, and then heated it at 375 for about 10 minutes in a preheated oven. It was so juicy and delicious! The removable plates clean very easily. I hand wash just to hopefully keep it nice longer.

Favorite Kitchen Appliance
This is one of the best kitchen appliances I own. I bought it when I went on a health kick a few years back and used it constantly. Then I got an air fryer and this sat in the kitchen cabinet for a few months. Recently I broke it out again and I am still so impressed by this little machine! It cooks chicken breasts PERFECTLY and FAST! Since it cooks on both sides it cooks in half the time. The chicken is so juicy and just perfect. We also cook perfect turkey burgers on this. It is amazingly easy to clean too! Even with messy marinades (that have been left on longer than they should) it only takes minutes to clean. The cooking plates come off and can be put right in the sink and wash up with little effort from a scrub brush. I have also put the plates in the dishwasher and they have been fine. I also line the drip tray with foil or parchment paper for even quicker clean up. Overall, this is an amazing invention and if you are short on time or patience to cook during the week, consider adding this to your kitchen.

Great (TWO-SERVING) Grill
George Foreman grills are a staple. You need one. They work. Also, the new ceramic grills are a massive improvement over the old Teflon coated ones; they are insanely easy to clean and I am very happy with my new grill. The single only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is the completely false claim that it "serves 5." Unless you are feeding cocktail weenies to 5 vegetarian toddlers, this unit absolutely does not make five servings of anything! It WILL comfortably cook 2 average sized hamburger patties (I use those frozen "Bubba Burgers" and this is perfect for two of those). It will not fit three (nor four nor five but i digress); two hamburger patties fit nicely which is fine because if you are trying to make burgers for five people you probably want to move to another option anyway like a traditional grill. Love this product, this is my 4th GFG (I had one of the originals from the old George Foreman infomercials - love these things), this is by far the best one they've made yet but don't believe the lying liar who lies about it being large enough to make five servings - not even five sliders - seriously it wont. Enjoy!

Very Easy to Clean Up after Use
This is by far the easiest electric grill, George Foreman and any others I have used over the years. We follow the instructions and Don’t Use Spray On Oil (Pam) on the grill and instead spray the meat. After the grill cools just pop off the top and bottom hot plates and spray all of the grease and grime with hot water and Shazam every bit just washes off no fuss no muss. Wouldn’t get too hung up on the size as I have seen in other reviews. Obviously everyone has different ideas of what a serving size is, so while some might be able to get 5 servings on the grill. I will say it more like how many burger patties will fit (3 large), or 2 - 3 good size chicken breasts. Warm up takes more like 7 to 8 minutes as opposed to 5 minutes on our earlier models. I suspect this has to do with the design and detachable hot surfaces and the amount of time it takes to transfer the heat. I definitely recommend this grill for the sheer fact of how easy it is to clean up and use.

Easy to use and consistent
Let me preface this by saying I am an incredibly poor cook. I'm pretty good at pancakes, mediocre at omelets, and for all intents and purposes incapable of anything else. I'm the person who can't boil water without messing it up somehow. I also love steak with a passion and have ruined dozens of them trying and failing to cook one. Someone at work suggested I try a George Foreman grill and I was skeptical, of course. Still, I bought one. The setup was easy, just needed to rinse off the two ceramic plates, pop them on, and put the grease catcher under it. The instruction booklet came with a basic guide for how long to cook things like steak and salmon, so I began. The first thing I loved was how idiot proof the operation is. There are no buttons, no dials, and two lights. Plug it in and it starts heating up. When the green light turns off, it's ready to cook. No aerosol spray needed and evidently it shouldn't be used regardless. So I put a little butter and salt on my steak, threw it on the grill, closed it, and waited 5 minutes. Opened it up, sliced open the steak a bit, not quite done. Two minutes later, I had an excellent steak which took practically no effort and definitely no cooking ability. This grill removes most of the variables of cooking. I have trouble with recipes because they're too vague. Medium could mean anything from 30% to 70% on the stove, and between different types of metals, different stoves, and other variables there's a lot of intuition and guesswork involved in cooking. Not so with a George Foreman grill. Turn it on, throw your meat on there, and wait until it's not raw. That's it. Cleaning is easy, I just wait until it cools off a bit and run it under the faucet, maybe scrub it a bit if I burned my meat. It's dishwasher safe but I haven't found the dishwasher necessary because it really is nonstick. Bonus is it's nonstick without Teflon, so no unpleasantness there. I've set it up next to my (mostly unused) stove, as it didn't quite fit on it due to the coils getting in the way. This being quite honestly the best purchase I've ever made, I didn't mind giving over a little counter space, especially since it doesn't take up much. I've been eating steak and sausage every day for the last week, and will be moving onto other things soon. I've already successfully cooked more meat in the last 2 weeks than in my entire life, so this grill gets 5 stars. The picture shows how it looks in relation to my messy counter and hopefully gives an idea of both the size. The cat which is not supposed to be up there is a bonus!

Super Ceramic
I bought this for the special ceramic grill plates, but it has several features that are more efficient than my 3-year-old panini maker. (1) The heating elements are all enclosed. (2) The plates are super easy to remove, but the food slides off so easily I wipe them clean and don't need to put them in the dishwasher. (3) My counter space is limited, but although the GRP492P is two inches wider than my old one, it seems more compact and is a lovely sleek design. (4) The cooking surfaces are 12 inches wide, so it depends how big you want your hamburgers as to how many you can fit in. (5) I keep the grill on a 1/2-inch thick cutting board, and when I want to level the cooking surface, I simply move the back legs off the edge of the board. (6) For safety I use a time-off timer in case I forget to unplug it. (I have Wood or Belkin timers for everything that's not safe to leave on too long, i.e lots of timers, but the expense is well worth the peace of mind.) (7) Last but not least, how well does this grill cook with a set temperature and no degree indicators? Fantastically. It's so much simpler to work with time instead of dials. I'm very glad I treated myself to this new appliance, which also handles many items that my toaster oven does, but is so much easier to clean. Go George!

I couldn't be any more pleased! Grill baby, grill!
How did I get by all these years without one of these? This is the easiest way to cook ever! I'm an embarrassment to my friends who cook; I call what I do 'assembling'. I follow recipes and, if they call for more than 'add this, add that', they go in the circular file ;) I don’t eat meat, but I put fresh and frozen fish in here, and (separately) marinated veggies, and they come out perfectly! Even peanut butter sandwiches are delicious! I threw some shredded mozzarella in a folded tortilla and voilà- quesadilla! No stove, no oven, no cruddy pans, just plug it in to heat it up, wait for the 'ready' light to go out and grill baby, grill! Mostly I just wipe the cooled ceramic plates down with wet paper towels and rinse them in soapy water for clean up. I read another review that mentioned putting soaking wet paper towels in the closed unplugged grill while you eat if it's particularly grungy - the grunge steams itself loose and wipes off when cool. I'm a 63 yr old married woman who has been 'cooking' all my life. People like the food I make cuz it's delicious, but I choose my recipes carefully so they meet criteria (see above). My repertoire will expand with the addition of this little beauty. Spring for the model with the removable plates for easy clean-up, also I chose the ceramic plates cuz I don't want to use Teflon. I couldn't be any more pleased , and highly recommend!

Love George Foreman grills, in general. But the ceramic plates suck.
I have had George Foreman grills for at least the last two decades. They work great. Once you zero in on the specific times to cook your favorite items, it cooks them perfectly, every time. All you need to do is put the meat on the grill, close it, and set a timer. I almost splurged and got the fancy one, with the digital temp and sear settings. But, I have never had any issue with my old one, and using the timer on my microwave. I also consider the removable grill plates an essential feature. It makes clean up so much easier. The ceramic coated grill plates, on the new one I got do seem to be easier to clean than the original ones on my older one. But, that could also have to do with the fact that I have used my older one for the past 11 years or so, and maybe it is just less non-stick, now. In any case, I like the ceramic grill plates. UPDATE May 25, 2022: I removed a couple of stars because, after a couple 2 or 3 months of using it, a couple times per week, any time I cook meat (steaks, pork chops, etc), it sticks hard. When I try to get it off the grill, it ends up ripping meat off. I have even tried oiling the grill plates, before I put the meat on, and that doesn't help. It is super disappointing. Another tip, for cleaning the grill plates, is after you have taken your meat off of the grill (and maybe let it cool down for a minute, but it is still hot), get a few paper towels wet, lay them between the grill plates, and close the grill. The steam will help loosen any stubborn stuck on stuff, making it easier to wipe off with a sponge (or some wet paper towels).

Faulty grill
This grill has a US plug end, which was the first of a number of issues we have encountered with the product. After massively overpaying for the product given its current list price, I incurred further cost by having to buy a plug adapter for it to fit our local electrics. The condition of the item was listed as 'new', however I'm sure its not! After attempting to use the grill for the first time the bottom plate doesn't heat up. When I have removed the plate the under hot plate appears damaged, presumably from prior use. I would advise any buyer to be cautious if buying this product. We are really disappointed.

ceramic coated plates
I am really happy with this product the removable plates make clean up easy ,only complaint I have is the size of the cooking surface is not big enough to do 4 frozen hamburger patties at the same time. But overall its a great grill.

Removable plates are great
Love this grill. It was a replacement for an original George Foreman grill that I had been using for more than a decade. The removable plates are a great upgrade. They make it so much easier to clean the grill between uses.
