The 4400 Complete Collection: Series 1-4 [DVD]

Pretty good TV...and a lot of it! As the series progresses, its direction seems to change...but then, that lessens predictability. What can be rather predictable are the responses from some of the main characters...a frequent feeling of 'seen that before'...so by the end of 4 seasons, many of the character roles had been pretty much played out. BUT...other characters make very welcome returns, along with new faces...and one can settle down with renewed interest. Initially, it may seem a bit 'freak of the week', but as the underlying storyline unfolds, (gradually!), interest grows...and, although the final shows do a fair job of wrapping up, the imagination can continue to wonder what that future world would have held...sci fi is all about the imagination.There is some 'filling'...but with such a lot of episodes...well, you do get your money's worth. Could do without the 'Already on the 4400...' recap montages before every episode...but that's TV series.Many of the cast display first class acting...and watching the 'Maia' character grow is truly fascinating...an exceptional little actress there!Overall, a good buy for entertainment. Not a patch on 'The Sarah Connor Chronicles' for character development or potential...but 'The 4400' was pretty much complete by cancellation, so at least there is much less frustration!Packaging and play very good...and Amazon delivery as good as usual.

Another box set to add to our collection of rapidly growing boxsets. Reading this info about this we were unsure as to whether to buy it or not as it didn't sound that good and after watching the pilot episode we were still thinking the same. This boxset has one of those story lines that does fire all it's big guns from the word go but instead slowly builds and introduces it characters over the first handful of episodes and by the end of the first series leaves you itching to load the second series and carry on.One downside we have come up with is there is only 4 seasons. To say we're disappointed is a bit of an understatement as we felt it could, and should, of carried on and built into one of those that could easily churn out double figured seasons. But if you are into those whole sci fi/super human/special powers sort of things then this is a must have boxset for your collection.

An unusual story line but once your hooked you have to binge watch to the end .

4400 is a spectacular piece of Science Fiction. It is about 4400 people who hve been abducted over a large period of time and then returned all in one group. Some of these people begin to develop special abilities.The show is very well written, it is funny and also touching and emotional. It shows people at their best and worst and shows how bad we are at reacting to things that are different.I would describe this show as a cross between the X-files, Lost and Heroes.Unfortunatly this show was cancelled due to delays in writing it during the writers strike and a fantastic show was lost. Therefore the final season is ended on a huge cliffhanger that we will never know the answer to.If you like well written, clever science fiction or you like x-files or heroes or any show along those lines this is the show for you.

The 4400 Complete Collection (Series 1-4) [DVDThe 4400 has to be my favourite T.V. series of all time. Even though it unfortunately only ran for 4 seasons, the development of all the characters, the relationships and the story line flowed flawlessly and every episode felt like it had a purpose rather than just being a filler. The 4400 was well before its time and perhaps this is why it's not known as well as series such as 'Heroes' and 'Lost', but there is definitely something about it which makes it stand out from the atypical science fiction.It is a very rewatchable series and the acting is fantastic, adding to the waves of countless emotions you will feel from anger, sadness, happiness and grief. I would encourage those people who are avid Sci-Fi fans to watch this series but also those people who don't tend to watch much Sci-Fi, it is definitely a series that has something for everyone.

The series is excellent, so why 3 stars?Well, you are only buying half the complete series. The only half made. The other was pulled by the TV channel, probably due to audience figures dropping by a little. ie corporate greed. It was a mistake on their behalf as the blip in viewing stats would have turned around and they would have made a nice little profit.So, the series. 100% excellent. 5stars for the half series.The sad part was that the first half was always leading you to the next part and ultimately the ending.It actually shows you it!So, imagine buying Harry Potter and then the last film was never made.A good example of this is the deviant series of films. Where is the final part of the series of films? lost in the world of corporate greed.So, I would probably recommend NOT buying this series at all. Why give the greedy giants money for unfinished work?You wouldn't buy half a painting, or a book that someone had torn the last half off?

Interesting and philosophical. Who gets the abilities, what kind of abilities; benevolent or malevolent. If all people have special abilities, what effect does it have on society as a whole? Is it a good thing or bad? All in all the series was interesting and managed to surprise me all the time.The only problem I have with the series is the premise that we are alone in the universe ( or multiverse; depending who you talk to) and the intervention is humans traveling backward in time from the future to make adjustments in the present. Another that one needs a chemical (“Promicine”or “cortexafan” , in another series) to induce these abilities or states of mind. I think that’s a limited way of perceiving our reality.

One of the greatest TV shows of the mid-2000's! Wish there had been more seasons. If you like suspense, mystery, family drama and non-stop action. Buy this short-lived series. Money well spent for commercial-free entertainment.

Manche von ihnen besitzen von da an aussergewöhnliche bis unheimliche Fähigkeiten. Was ist mit Ihnen geschehen?Ich habe die erste Folge dieser Serie zufällig im Fernsehen gesehen. Von da an hatte es mich gepackt. Ich habe nach Möglichkeit keine Folge mehr versäumt.Ich empfehle diese Serie unbedingt weiter. Sie ist spannend und immer wieder überraschend.Diese Sammelbox ist ein absolutes Must-Have für alle 4400-Begeisterten und die, die es noch werden wollen!Wissenswert ist, dass die Staffel 1 nur in enlischem Original-Ton zu sehen ist, Staffel 2 bis 4 allerdings auch in Deutsch!!!
