Simple concept, but fun.
It’s a simple enough concept. Pick a few cards. Hide them so they lead to the other cards. Hide the keys to open the pirate chest along with some of the cards. My kids enjoyed playing with this. There are cards for indoors and outdoors. There are even some blank cards. The only thing to be careful with is the sturdiness of the chest. My daughter snapped the key in the chest the first time we tried it. We ended up having to get a replacement for it. The plastic is a little brittle.

Great concept, terrible quality treasure chest
This could have been so cool! Unfortunately I'm afraid to let my kids open the chest and I'm even afraid of breaking it.I love the concept and my kids adore treasure hunts. There are so many cards included here that I can get a game going without putting too much thought into it (like I've done in the past when creating my own treasure hunt clues from scratch). If I want to be creative, there are a ton of blank cards that we can customize to suit our household, yard, and interests. The clue guidebook is a huge help.Seriously, the biggest downside is that the keys are so brittle and the lock mechanism so tricky to operate that it's a certainty it'll get broken. It's really a shame. My kids were so excited to play with it but it'll need to be "adult only operation" for us.

Lost loot
This is right up my kiddos alley. He preciously would make up his own similar games so we were thrilled to have the chance to test this one out. We had lots of fun and I appreciate that they have indoor and outdoor cards. The plastic pieces are not as sturdy as I would like but we are still getting use out of it.

Not super impressed
Instructions really are not clear. It tells you there are various keys to unlock the skeleton but doesn’t tell you how to take them out without breaking anything. I was able to figure out what the keys were and how to get it unlocked, but by the end of it the main key broke inside the lock and isn’t able to be used now. It’s a fun concept but the pieces are just a little too cheap for prolonged use. There are a TON of cards but they really seemed….unnecessary in my opinion. You don’t use them other than for clues to hide the keys so I expected with that many cards it would be a kind of game. And the instructions need to be clearer for how to play and how to initially take out the keys. But we still had a fun time and my nephew got to keep the box to put stuff in so still a fun afternoon :)

Amazingly fun for wide range of ages, breaks easily
Great fun! We have already played this game a handful of times with kids aged 2-9. The best age group I think is the 5-7 yr olds as they can read the clues and use their critical thinking to figure them out. The major drawback I have is that the "keys" are very breakable when you take them in/out of the chest. On the first game we played , the jaw broke and I did have to super glue it together again. Now I need to be the one to insert all the "keys" including the one to open the treasure chest. The sturdiness of the chest is more for 9-12 yr olds! This game can be done indoors/outdoors. I found it easier to set up inside but I like the option for both locations. It can be somewhat confusing as an adult t set uup and make sure you get all the clues in the right spots. There is an instruction book that also helps.

Not recommended!
The key to open the treasure chest broke the first time it was used! So, now the treasure chest can't be opened! At $35, this is unacceptable! What a disappointment for my grandchildren!

Multiple uses for home or at school!
This is such a cute idea, I absolutely love the treasure box. The kids have to follow clues (there are indoor and outdoor clue cards) to find the next piece to put together the key to open the treasure box. Since it's all reusable, this can be done for a multitude of "treasures". Like one review says, I used this as a way to have them clean up some of their things. They had to actually move things around and put it away to find the next clue. (I hid a clue in their dresser, where their pants are to go. Put the pants where they go and they find the next clue lol) The treasure chest can be used in school for the little prizes teachers give for good behaviors, etc., or at home for just about any occasion or fun. My kids are 9, 11, and 13. While the 13 year old acted like she was "too cool" for it, she was laughing and having fun with some of the things they had to do for clues. It's a fun way to bring the family together, have something to do on a rainy day, get everyone outside in the sun and burn off some energy, or for the classroom. By being able to add many things to the box as treasure, you can use this for just about anything.

Key broke on first use
On the first use after we put all the keys in and went to turn the final key it immediately broke off and was stuck inside the key hole. We were unable to open the treasure chest. We used a screw driver to turn it to eventually open it but now the final key is broken and unusable
