Bonavita BV61500CAD Double Walled Carafe, Glass, Clear/Black

Works really well and keeps the coffee hot longer than a traditional glass carafe. It pours better than the stainless steel carafe.

Wonderful carafe to bad the pot after a few months develops cracks in the plastic...after awhile it will leak..this is my second coffee pot. The first one I bought at Williams Sonoma...I had to con r act Bonavita they were wonderful sent me a new coffeemaker no charge....unfortunately the new one is starting to show the same cracks.

This glass carafe is much easier to clean and pour from than the stock thermal carafe that comes with the BV1500TS. It doesn't hold heat very long, but to be honest - the stainless carafe didn't either, even when pre-heated. And in either case, fresh coffee doesn't last long in this house so I've found that heat retention is not an issue. But: cleaning is really easy - I can fit my hand and a sponge inside, and being clear you can see if it's clean or not. And it pours really nicely, better than the plastic lid on the stainless carafe ever did. All around a great upgrade from the stock carafe on this fabulous little coffee maker.

Hubby got it and is happy with it. He had the thermos carafe before but always complained that it didn't pour well. He loves this one!

I picked this up based on reviews for the BV1500TS. People mentioned in their reviews that this carafe was better than stainless steel version. If you drink your coffee fast that might be the case. Even after only an hour the temp of coffee was under a 100° F. This was with a half pot of coffee. For comparison, with the stainless steel version I took temperature 2 hours after I brewed coffee and it was 132° F. While it looks very nice and pours easier than the SS version only buy it if you plan on drinking pot fairly quickly.
