No, it's flat on the back side of it.

Q: Can I use this star/snowflake outside?

Possibly, it just plugs into an outlet, if there is no ceiling above it you may not see the projection.

I haven’t had that issue. Could it be a fault in the wire? Unless it isn’t plugged in all the way. I’d message the company about that bc it might be faulty and even dangerous. Mine doesn’t do that.
