They work well.
Easily placed in shoes. Useful to keep in lockers for sports shoes too. Great value for money.

Do not do anything.
Bought for climbing shoes to help with smells, but they do nothing. Not even activated charcoal at all. Activated charcoal has no odour, these smell like burnt wood, worse still they do absolutely nothing other than make my shoes smell like a bonfire. Waste of money.

Gave one away and put one in the utility room where I have a fridge. So far it seems to keep smells at bay.
