Fits right as it should and works exactly as it should. I had no issues with it at all and have canned many many times since I installed it.

Identical replacement part
Used it on my old presto model number 0178006 pressure canner.

I could have paid almost 75% less... but.....
I needed two of these, along with some other parts, since I'm refurbishing a couple of pressure cookers that I recently picked up at a garage sale.... And I could have paid considerably less!So... why did I get these instead and pay almost four times more? Because they came quicker? NO. Because I like to spend more than I have to? NO. Because the cheaper one from the other vendor was out of stock? NO.I bought these based on experience. Nothing against the other vendor that sells these for about six dollars, but these are freakin' PRESSURE COOKERS! 15lbs of pressure (or more) can make a heck of a mess and be also downright dangerous to you. I purchased a sealer ring in the past from a third party manufacturer and was less than completely satisfied with the results. Therefore, I decided to stick with these, a known quality product - official Presto brand vent/lock valves.I highly recommend using official Presto replacement parts, I know what to expect and can depend upon the durability and even the suitability of their products, and therefore, not too anxious to find out that I made a bad decision on the part I'm actually putting into something that could cause a catastrophic failure if it's not up to snuff - and I know these parts are indeed up to the task.You make your own mind up about buying these or a knock off brand, but if you've ever been around when a pressure cooker fails hard.... as I have.... you'll prolly opt for these official Presto brand replacement parts too lol :)

do not forget this seal when R & R your Presto Canner
great replacement vent. My wife bought a new canner, I bought all new seals except this vent. Cooker would not pressurize.Found out it was a ruptured white plastic sealing washer on this part. Could not remove part, so I bought this completeassembly. Sawed off old one, R & R with this new one. Now the canner works great again. I followed up with buyinga few spare washers and another assembly. During canning season, can't afford an inoperable canner.

This fits but is not as sturdy as the original
I have needed to replace items on my caner for some time. This fits but is not as sturdy as the original. I still would recommend it.
