Great hone for my Kramer knives
I got this to go with my Kramer Damascus knives. It's a great addition and does a good job of keeping the knives tuned up. Great price too so I'm very pleased.

First ceramic rod.
I had an older steel rod and wanted to try a ceramic to see if it worked better restoring an edge. Well for me it did. Very pleased with this thing. I'm just a home cook and so far, it seems to be holding up well.

What side has the rougher ridges?
This was top rated in Americas Test Kitchen. I purchased it based on that report. Reportedly, one side of the rod is more gentle than the other ... I can't see a different and am not certain whether I can feel a difference or if I am just imagining it. The handle should really give some indication as to which side is which.
