Khartoum

This is an excellent recording. Do not hesitate to make a purchase if you enjoy Frank Cordell's exceptional score.

I was late discovering this release, but am extremely excited to have gotten it since I couldn't find it listed anywhere on Amazon in the U.S.I haven't listened to the vinyl version yet, but the accompanying CD sounds fantastic. If one must lament that the release is in mono only, that doesn't affect the enjoyment of hearing the near complete score as it was originally written for the film. A must have for any fan of Frank Cordell, and by all measures it should win him new admirers from a younger generation who wasn't fortunate enough to see the film in its initial Ultra Panavision Cinerama release.

Brilliant vinyl

When I heard that a new version of Frank Cordell's majestic score to Khartoum was being released, I was excited. The Khartoum score is one of my favorite scores and I always hoped there would be an expanded release of it some day. Thanks to Stylotone Records, it happened.The album contains the score on 2 LPs colored brown, a movie poster replica, the score on a CD and a certificate signed. All in all, a decent package.The cons are the score is in Mono which some may not like. I also detected one cue of the score I heard in the movie that isn't included on this album which prevents me from calling this the entire score.But if you love the score or are a film score fan like me, you'll want to get this.
